I wish our skin was more resistant to damage, at least five times.
Wish granted. All humans now have skin which is virtually impervious to damage from everyday implements, and even objects normally considered capable of damage, such as knives, scalpels, etc.
Unfortunately our new harder skin pays for it's durability by way of loss of elasticity, added weight, and thickness.
Our sense of touch is virtually eliminated. We can longer feel the pleasure of a cool breeze, or holding a warm cup of coffee on a cold day.
Our motion is severely limited, and just stretching a bit too hard often results in skin cracking. Additionally it takes much longer to heal.
Billions, especially in third and second world countries die off as a result of blood infections cause by open wounds. As an adaptation we are forced to wear uncomfortable bodysuits which protect us in the event of a crack.
Due to extreme overuse in attempting to combat infections, nearly all antibiotics are now useless, and millions upon millions suffer as a result.
Worse yet, with our ability to experience tactile pleasure gone, people loose interest in procreation. While procreation is still possible it is much harder and it regularly results in the mother's death.
Civilization is in turmoil as fewer and fewer people are left to maintain society. The few suffering through the thick skin apocalypse can now only hope that a cure will be developed for this mysterious illness which came out of nowhere, and took such a toll on society.
None know how of why such events came about, but there are rumors of one name Cel who was Patient Zero. Regrettably he was one of the first to die, and was unable to relate how he contracted the illness.
I wish there was a very high definition mmo that allowed you to be inside the game(and get out easily) and no way to actually die from playing the game.
Wish granted. Unfortunately the MMO consists of running through a never ending maze.
I wish that our natural ability to heal could be enhanced to mimic the healing powers of Wolverine from the X men.
