I know nothing about how much power a glass ;lens can handle BUT would be very surprized to hear that even our +3W diodes could do harm.
I was in a GB for PBS cubes (By Dave atPlex) and the first ones (samples) were tested very throughly.. including what they called 'baking' to see if anything can be harmed- to do that one member put IIRC 10W into one cube for HOURS--
dats some serious testing...
they passed btw (for 400 to 450nm)
I hope , with these lenses & my cubes , i can DIY my own dual blue 4+W for a 'mono' Projector (beamer w/ 15 K PTs)
I saw an illustration of how a laser beam passes thru a clear balloon and pops a black one inside--
