Collecting money on brand new S1 lenses

Hey! My parcel made it to New York City today. I am in Washington state, so it may be another week or so before I see the lenses. But, I am so stoked about the lenses being in the country I just had to let you know.

Almost got mine today, delivery lady did not give to my sister, and I was not home, will go pick them up at post office tonight or tomorrow :D

just picked them up, time to charge batteries to full and compare

That's great! can't wait to get mine. I am really looking forward to comparing these lenses against several other single element lens that I have. I too, will be charging batteries and pulling out the LPM and comparing the many lenses against each other.

Here are the results I got with a laserbee a 2W lpm
o-like fake g2 - 1044mW
lens from this GB - 1051mW
3e lens - 790mW

I noticed a large 45% increase from 3e to this lens, but it could be because I did the 3e lens 3rd and did not charge batteries in between, next I will charge 3 sets of batteries and use a fully charged for each test.

Cool! good to see some results, can you tell us what wavelength the laser was?

I cant wait to get mine, ill try all the lens to check for consistency also

I've got three 635nm 1 watt laser builds in progress and these lenses are some of the first I am planning on trying out on these builds. There are two Mits and an Oclaro that are going into some awesome hosts. I am hoping that these lenses will give me that little extra umph to push them all over the 1 watt output. If not, I have several original Techhood lenses before they changed over to O-Like lenses and I have several O-Like lenses and some LFL lenses too. I also have an MS Envy that I am in the middle of with a brand new Nichia 445nm 2 watt laser diode that has never seen solder before and I am hoping it will turn out to be an awesome build as well.

Just heard from thejoker301 and he said that more parcels are going out today. This was from very early, so I'm guessing that they have already gone out. Thanks everyone for your patience and understanding. I will post more information as it becomes available to me.

Mine arrived today. Now only in those batteries I ordered from FastTech would get here. It's been two months already...

Received mine today! HUGE thanks to Paul and Eitan for all your work!!! :gj:

Some quick test results are shown below, using various lasers with a 3-Element, G2, and these "new" lenses. All measurements done with an Ophir/Laserbee meter.

For most wavelengths, these "new" lenses gave me almost identical performance as a G2 lens. The exception was with 638nm, where output was about 5% to 6% higher than a G2 lens. I can't explain that... I even repeated the test to make sure, and am definitely getting higher output on 638nm with these "new" lenses versus a G2.

I'd be very interested to see some others post their results comparing this and G2 on 635/638/660nm.

Scott, that's great news about the 635nm output increase since I have three of these builds in progress at the moment. My lenses still show leaving New York five days ago IIRC.
