CNI yellow 593.5nm Lab laser

Oh yeah that's right, you fix people's lasers! Where can I estimate shipping costs?
EDIT: oh right, it's that it wasn't set right, it's been spotlight-y since I got it.

I have a 100mW unit in the works hopefully will get it soon.

no kidding. mine will do lots more, I just don't want to push it too hard. its bad for the laser, and a pain in the ass to adjust anyway.

I really enjoyed this thread. Yellow lasers are my absolute favorites, and I always love seeing 589 and 594 compared. Its interesting to see that at higher power levels, the color difference doesn't seem to be as great (or at least the camera doesn't capture it as well).

Great thread, thank you!

The camera caught it pretty good. The difference is huge but it's quite noticeable in person. You probably wouldn't notice it at first glance or at a distance in less you know better. On my iPhone the photos show up pretty much perfect. Not everyone's monitor can probably see the difference. 594 is notably orange in color.

I've had 594 dpss lasers before, but I've never owned a 589 before. 589s didn't exist when I was in the hobby before (at least not in the hobby afaik); they're relatively new and part of the reason I came back. I have however compared a 594 to a low pressure sodium streetlight and found the difference to be extremely noticeable. I'd call LPS light a rich yellow, while the 594 lasers that I had all looked fairly coppery to me. Would you say that is a fair assessment based on your observations?

I've never owned a 589, but I'll agree on you with the coppery feel of 593.5. It's a very warm, strong orangey-gold colour, less so on the orange and more so on the gold.

Yeah. It's more of an amber yellow-orange, where 589 is kind of a marigold/sodium yellow color. 583 and 578 are more of a lemon yellow, perhaps with the tiniest hint of green starting to peek through instead of Orange. For my eyes that seems to be about where the transition takes place.

Now do a shot of 593.5 and 594.1 side by side to see who can tell which is which! =P

Kidding aside that is a really beautiful labby, excellent score!

yes it was quite a score. but its by far not my most expensive laser I own. I'm very happy with it though. its a very fun laser. I actually should probably sell a few of my handhelds, as I hardly ever use them anymore.

Very unique wavelength.
Those have to shed a lot of waste heat don't they?
