The power reported may be PEAK power derived from the Q switch
in the DPSS optical path. This is much like a SSY-1 YAG with a Q.

Honestly, I haven't really done much in that field so that whole field (q-switches and YAG pumped lasers) are all a bit foreign to me. I'll look into them a bit with my spare time tonight.
 
I would think the green would be pumping dyes to get 70W of yellow and 120W of red. Mike's post would coincide with what I was thinking as well. Very astonishing though.
 
It doesnt seem impossible to me... however I don't think they can guarantee 70W of 589nm, water cooled, Q-switched or not.

Edit: I completely forgot about dyes making 589nm, I'd place money on one of those.

They would not be quoting peak power like that, when in reality the q-switched peak is well into the kW range. "Dozens" of watts seems very very low for a q-switched pulse.

Candela SPTL's can produce something like .5 Joules of energy in the 589nm range IIRC
