Depending on when this GB would happen and if it's not too late I'd be curious what a 593.5 GLP or other lower powered model would run since bloom said a high powered PL-III-C would start at around $900 several pages back. I'd something to fill the (small) WL gap between my 589 and 594 HeNe to complete my yellow collection. I have a feeling it may be cheaper go to through LG for a one off though.


FWIW those wanting super high powered 589s unless you're willing to pay out the nose $xxxx for a lab style unit 80mw is about as much as you're going to reliably get out of a handheld and those cost just under $600 USD before shipping in the previous GB. 80mw is still faintly visible here in my home office area with some sunlight coming in the window and 120w of overhead lights on. In a dark room or at night it's quite spectacular.

But with its shelf life problem , $600 USD for a laser that could go kaput on us is a real problem :(

Wow this thread went by pretty quickly... if it's not too late, I'd be curious at a 473nm 80mW+ :beer: I'm sure 90% of the forum members here already know I'm searching for a 473nm :D
 
Ehhh... After hearing this.
I think I can wait a few years for a 589nm.
I'll have a 473 instead.

Gotta wait for the 589 DPSS process to mature a bit first
 
I still think it's very cool to own a 589nm laser. The wavelength is certainly exotic, and it just looks so beautiful. I can't wait till they start making 555 +- 5nm portable lasers. Last time I checked, 556nm OEM lasers were available. God only knows how much a 556nm portable laser would cost now >_<.
 
Well. 561 is available for 800 dollars if I remember right. No possibility of a discount though unfortunately.
 
I am really interested in an 80mW 473... Does anybody have an idea what the price would be?

I should have specified. I sent those 2 to Burn since those were the two really cool powers. I should have sent the other two, I planned to post all 4 but never got around to it.

yikes....price increase again much? seems to fluctuate a lot lately, though none of these are unreasonable.
 
80mW 589- $840-$700 yikes.:( that is a most tempting price for 1W of 532. I may be in for a 589 by the end of this if I make a load of money between now and then

could this mean no 500mW or 800mW I was planing on $200-300ish green...
