I find those things useless

If someone finds lasers useless then they are missing out some great stuff whether it's a hobby's thing or medical, Industrial etc.. thing. :drool:

I just find it fascinating that something so powerfull can come out of something so small like a diode.

Love the colors, even from low powered lasers and the host they sit in with all the bells and whisles.

Laser show's alway's give you a feeling of reaching out to it with your hands.
It fascinates people.

I've allready seen the 589nm color as i have one.
Once you turn it on you get a quick ''i can't believe it'' feeling
It's awesome!

The wonderfull people on this forum also really helped pushing this hobby into something i never thought would have.
And that is a big + in my book

Actualy it´s 5.3% for foreign PP fees.

Protection for what? I prefer the gift method, don´t want any PP problems.


The costs are pretty much as they are, unknown factor are just the custom
fees now, but it should work out as I expect it. The PI is in post #3 of this thread.

Will refund if it is >$2/person that are too much, will ask for more money if it is >$2/person.

$400 for shipping? that is ridiculous. I'd like some rationale on why the shipping is $400.

Also you said you are going to get them to declare the package for $150? is that correct? but you are asking for $10 each for customs so thats $110 - so $110 customs charges on a $150 declaration? I must be missing something so let me know where I am in error.

Just want to know the details before I send $700 off into outerspace.

you are asking for $10/person for customs fees. you said that you are having CNI declare the package for $150 - so there is $110 customs fees on a $150 value package? why?

CNI is charging us $380 for shipping?? that seems very very high especially coming from an asia country... can you confirm?

I am likely missing something so let me know where I am mistaken or don't understand.

For Zraffel´s 589nm there were 198€ to pay for custom fees. Local customs here take the package value and add an estimated amount for shipping. Than they calculate import sales tax and duty taxes.

Yes, $380 for freight charge! A single unit is $85 for shipping. Asked for a rational for the high freight taxes.

Told ya guys that I´m refunding back if there is something left.

I want to hop in and answer a question to plexus. CNI doesn't ship any other way other than FedEx, so the shipping cost is very high but when I asked them if they could ship in a cheaper way, they told me that in the case they did, they didn't take ANY responsability if the lasers arrived or not. I don't see me risking 700 over some shipping cost. So Yes shipping is very expensive but we all know how fedex works.

As for the PP payment not a gift to have a PP protection, please if something went wrong what would you do, put a claim to Phil? He is just helping here guys, he is NOT selling you the lasers, he is doing you a favor in getting the laser, testing them, and shipping them to each of you. He has nothing to do with CNI and any claim should be directed to CNI an no one else. So what would you gain with the buyers protection program?

Think what you are asking, and why you are asking such. If you want to feel safe in sending out $700 than be asured that everybody that sent the money is going through some risk. DJNY is just a member taking the biggest risk of all of you. It is quite a responsability to take $6000 from other users.

So what I mean is feel free to do what's in your mind but be assured that DJNY is doing everything in his power to cut you the best deal and have the lasers shipped to you the soonest.

I totally understand and agree with you norbyx and am thankful to you and DJNY for all efforts in this GB.

my concers are two-fold: cost and risk. with all these costs the price went up to $720CAD. and there is the risk of customs confiscation. so i have to decide if i want to risk $720 on this. there is more risk now with 2 customs transfers: first to austria and second to me in canada. do i want to risk $720 or just wait for a yellow to show up in the buy and sell. i was on board with the initial $585 plus shipping but would have likely backed out if it was going to cost $85 to ship. i understand its fedex however i have received fedex shipped item from asia direct to me, for example 8kg of plastic 3D printer filament, and the shipping to Canada was $120 with fedex. i think is is a money grab by CNI which I am also not happy about. add to all this my bad luck with LPF group buys, all of which I have had to do credit card dispute to get my money back. i am going to have to sleep on this but i am inclined to back out. sorry. its just too much money to lose. i will decide tomorrow and if i decide to back out i apologize in advance to all of you.
