That isn't the mits 500mw diode in there. The mits diode is 638nm anyway

It is an actual 650nm c-mount diode rated a 1W they don't overdrive their lasers as hard as we do.

it has a much tighter square like beam too check the two reviews offroadfreak posted:beer:

edit: If I remember right there is a comparison between custom 1W 638 a the skylasers 650

Regarding the 532'? pens, does laserbtb specify if it's safe to use a Lithium ion battery and a spacer.

Well the laser is specified for 3V. So if you have a cell with 3V and a spacer it should not affect the functionality. However since most lithium cells are 3.7V i don't know if it shortens the life. I don't know if anybody can fill in here?

I was looking over the GB and saw no 5mW units available :(

You have incorrect information. Here is Kevin's response to my question.

the 532nm 100mw pen and the 532nm 150mw pen lasers use the same IR diode,

the 450nm 60mw pen and the 450nm 80mw pen lasers use the same current settings,
the 80mw use a higher current.

Some laser diodes we can get higher power,some not.

The 150mw 532 uses the same diode as the 100mw 532 just harder driven, and it appears that all the 450nm 60mw and 80mw pens use the same current setting, it's just the different diode efficiencies.

I could of sworn that they used different diodes (532) but i am wrong sorry for that! Also from that mail about the 450. I think the diode current is different. But the efficiency plays a role. Some diodes can take a higher current then others to get to 80mW.

If it goes through? Ummm this is ORF's 4th GB. Previous 3 went without a hitch (minus postal service damaging one buyers package irrc but LaserBtb replaced them :))

Might want to get your order in soon so everyone else will see its happening and then join as well. A lot of people wait til last minute and then its a mad a mad scramble to get orders straight and in on time. Let ORF know your order sooner than later so its get done correctly and more people will join.

Been thinking about adding a HL405 to my order. Still thinking it over but good chance I might if I can sell a few things quickly :beer:

I was going to get that one! I ended up getting one from Blord! The 405nm that is.

Was contemplating whether to build one or get that one. I figured that one is going to last. Same reason I went with the pl650 1000mw.

About customs and shipping you said that you would contact Kevin to confirm worldwide shipping. Is shipping to aus possible and is confiscation covered?

If shipping is ok I'm for two HL lasers :)

HL - 445nm 1000mw $147
HL - 532nm 300mw $80

Also about the HL 300mw 532 and HL 445 1000mw what would be an approximate duty cycle for both?

My HL 532 doesn't get warm until a couple minutes. Not sure the exact numbers.

I might get a 405 from here as well. I'm looking at the 460mw one though.. I like the lighter blue color.

I've had a HL"460".100mw Veeeeeerrryy hard to tell it from a 445.
