That's a real shame to hear Glenn, I hope your accounts are still intact.
I guess they don't want to allow people to have fun unless they can make money off it themselves..

Another thought did occur to me, like if someone was courageous enough, they could say, "You can enter to win free, and to help to actually have a prize to give away, they, (doing the drawing), will be accepting $ gifts". So to enter, send your email address and/ or to contribute a gift, send gift $ to the party". As long as there w/b a chance to win with or without $ sent, (supposedly), then, it I suppose w/b legal? besides one could do it from outside of the USA also, I suppose. ? -GH

What is a 'w/b' ?

Well, someone could simply host it, accept all the money for tickets, and do the drawing and everything.

At the end, you ship the laser (or tell CNI where to ship it, or however you do your magic), and the host pays you the money in total.

Plenty of trustful members here.
Someone even suggested that Dave should do the draw...

I think someone's jerking your chain, Glenn.. I can't figure how your raffle could be "illegal". What is it that makes it illegal?

Since those are state laws, they do not apply the same way to the web. As an example, we do not have to pay state sales tax on web purchases unless the website and the buyer are in the same state...

Well first one that is not in US that comes to mind is Bill, however he might be busy quite a bit.
Next one is IgorT I think, he is close to me also, so if he will be shipping the laser, I will get it real fast :crackup:

Ah that sucks that this got shut down. I am in Canada, so if there is anything I could do to help get this going again I'll be more than happy.

How can a raffle be agianst the Law i asume the moneys will go to LPF like he did last time so this is a Fund raiser for a non Profit org i dont know about were you Live but there are hella Non prof orgs that do raffles were i live to raise some extra cash.

I personally am not a rep for a registered non-profit organization, and I know cold doesn't want to authorize a raffle for his NPO, but is also not being an obstruction of such. I certainly would obtain a GB laser to send if someone else accepted all the "Gifts" n/p, then, I would not have any raffle of my own going on, eh? -Glenn
