Charge 26650's and 32600's with a Ultrafire WF-139






I just know i've seen and heard of way too many fires/explosions involving lithium batteries over the years to take any risks. If the charger manufacturer says a LiPo charger will work with Li-Ion, then it's probably fine, however, if it's not specifically listed... I wouldn't risk it. And I DEFINITELY wouldn't try hooking a LiPo up to anything but an approved LiPo charger.. and one that does cell balancing if it's a multi cell pack.
 
oh ok, i just read my manual and it said it can do li-ion aswell.

so 1C charging then?
 
Is your house insurance paid up? :D

If they're quality cells, it will probably be fine.. but eh. I have enough chargers and batteries, there's no reason for me to be in a hurry and risk fast charging.

I thought the answer was already given. Yes you can, it just won't be a fast charge.

Just buy a wf-188 from lighthound.
It has 350 and 650 mA charge rates at 3.2 and 3.7v settings

Last charger you'll have to buy for this hobby. It charges cr2s to 32650s

DTR has WF-188's for sale. So do I but mine are slightly more expensive due to me improving the reliability of the ones I carry.
 
I didn't get that from all the lipo and chopper talk i am sorry.

My sons both have rc cars with 7.2v battpacks, they charge them with a fast charger, the current and amps are ajustable is this safe?

ni-cads are entirely different from li-ions. Those chargers are fine for ni-cads, but not li-ions.

Only use a li-ion charger on on li-ions.
 
Its indeed Ni-Mh / Ni-Cd so thats no good.

My house and shed is bulking with chargers, thats wy i dont want to buy another one.

These are the chargers I stock.. but mine are at a bit of a premium since I replace the crappy slider rails in them with FP's silicon wire to get rid of connectivity and voltage problems, and test to make sure they charge cells to between 4.19v and 4.21v.(not all do. I've caught a few low ones) I also properly grease the rails too while i'm in there.

I sell them for $25 plus shipping.

I'm actually not sure what whoever designed these was smoking. A much more simple method would have been to use the springs that are needed already as the conductor for the contacts. These have a maximum of 650mA charge current and the springs in these would have been able to carry that easily without getting the slightest bit warm.

So if i charge my Sanyo 2600mAh at 1C, 2.6A (C Rating = mAh rating of battery/1000 = Charge current) it should take 1 hour to charge the battery?

Not exactly.

The charger is constant current until it reaches 4.2 VDC.

Then it switches to constant voltage which slows down the charging rate.

The charging would take ~1.5 hours for a 75% depleted cell.
