Hello...

My cheap eBay soldering iron bought for $4 broke down on me after the first solder job. I need a new one but I don't have a lot of money, the soldering irons here in Sweden are only stations starting $199. LIDL had one for $20, but they have stopped selling them in Sweden. (And they were pro stations aswell with tips and all included!)

So I'm wondering if someone can sell me a old one still working or maybe buy one of a store near you and sell it to me? I don't have a lot of money to invest into it. A normal soldering iron pen style would be OK.

I'm also interested in any living diodes except for 445nm's and IR ones.

Thanks.

If you find one you like. I'd gladly ship it out to you. However I don't have any old ones I could give you.

Lol, not again. Avoid the cheap irons. Buy a decent one and have a lifetime joy.
20-30 euro is pretty decent. You don't need 200 euro irons for the professionals.
Are there no electronic webshop in Sweden ?

I still got mine for sale and some laserdiodes.

In Europe all electrical equipment use AC 230V 50Hz.

I ask €10 for the soldering iron but the shipping is already €12,45 from Belgium. :(

I just bought a BernzOmatic Butane Soldering Iron for $20 from home Depot.
I needed to do some light soldiering on my car stereo, and didn't want to buy a bunch of extension cords to get my iron station down to the car.

Its the best iron i have ever used!

the temp control is Perfect for small jobs and its portable NO ELECTRICITY NEEDED Plus with as many smokers as there are in the world I know the butane lighter refills are everywhere.

I really recommend this thing if you can find one!

I've been using a cheap ($40) temperature controlled 50W soldering station I bought off of Amazon for years now. I'd never go back to a fixed temperature iron. Small chisel tip ftw, btw. You'll never be able to solder quickly with low heat stress with the pointed tips irons come with.

I thought chisel meant "sillicon" in english as in sillicon valley. Guess I'm wrong.

Well, I found out that a store named BILTEMA here sells them for $10. And you also get a stand, sponge, tip cleaner and five different tips. Cheap.

I have this one, it's pretty good. I had one just like it a long while ago that died on me, but I think it was because I was turning it on at high heat, which caused too much stress on the heater. Now I always start on low heat, and bring it up to higher after a few minutes of warming up. It is very good for the price anyway.

You'll spend more by going cheap and then learning your lesson and then buying the tools you really want--and get to suffer using the crappy equipment in the mean time that breaks your projects. Save up and buy something decent. You won't regret it.

These are usually not recommended for soldering diodes to drivers. The temps can fluctuate enough to fry a diode. So always use caution.

Thank you all for your responses! I just bought a soldering iron and it works perfectly! Thanks everybody!

For all else wondering I bougt a weller soldering station model # WESD51 a while back and it absolutely rocks. Worth every penny, that thing will solder pretty much anything.
