Build Request - 480nm in a Pen

As many of you may know, these 480nm diode samples have hit the market. What kind of build would be more ***y than a pen? none if you ask me

So, I come to you guys for this... Is there any builder out there, who has experience making pen builds, who can possibly build one of these new diodes into a pen for me?

I'm jumping the gun a bit on these, I'll be getting the diodes Friday, but it doesn't hurt to plan a bit ahead.

By pen, I'm looking for anything with side momentary switch. Leadlights are fine.

Anybody have any price estimates to run these at 6v ~80mA? Diode is a 5.6mm, case neutral.

A few people have sourced them from China, spectro results have them a little short of 480, but close enough IMO.

Price I don't have exactly, but somewhere around $50.

I was hoping to get my hands on at least one of these to get a spectrometer reading of at different current levels. That might have to wait until more are available now. I was hoping that they could be pushed slightly to longer wavelengths than ~475nm.

regarding the request.

the diode is $30 a piece. ( shipping from the source is $40 )

the driver is $27 from X-wosee. (exclude shipping.)

the leadlight host is $3 - $20 depends on the supplier and the material.( they come in aluminium,stainless steel,brass, copper). finishes( black,chrome,gold,rose gold).

then paypal fees of 3%.


so ranges from $100-$200.

there is no link.

these are not listed on any page.

as other has said before. the existence of these diode were known by randomly asking around.

and the sources will remain classified. there only a very limited amount sinking around.

the company haven't even publish any info to the public.

LOL I really like the ambiguous reference to these diodes with prices (including shipping) but a"classified " source. Nice teaser.......

It is because very few of these are currently in the wild and if the source was publicly posted, the source would get driven nuts with requests. Not a teaser so much as avoiding pissing off the source to the point where they decide not to try to get more. Be happy we have a source for 505 and might get a reliable source for 475 ranged diodes. Be patient.

Hi mate
I had this host I was building sitting around you might like it fits a complete 20mm DTR module witch come in 3.8-5.6-and 9mm, it takes 2 IMR 16340 and it has the sickest little side switch you will see, it has a click to it only issue if you can call it an issue is tailcap has a small hole for venting batts,
