i mean just like stuff around da house wit my current 5mW laser pointer

if you have a cd player you can take the motor then attach it to some batteries out then put a mirror on the motor then shine your laser on the mirror and there you go a diy Spirograph! ;D

Liquid sky, Tunnel effect, Laser field(you can do this with a huge amount of smoke/fog like burning an insence stick),and this one, but you would need two lasers for this Laser screen  

but I know you can spare ~$17 for a 5 mw greenie

If I were you, I'd sell all the lasers to pay for some English courses.

Find some stuff to throw your laser beam at:
Any glass ornament
A glass of water with a few drops of milk
Two razorblades with a tiny slit in between
With a convex lens (glasses or someting) focus the beam and put a small object at the focal point (eg human hair)
In the dark, throw all colors of lego on the floor and try to identify the color of all parts using your laser (shine it at your fingertip to make it a diffuse light source)

Whenever I'm bored, I either go out to the garage and fire up an argon laser or build another high powered blu-ray laser. Today I built a 185mW blu-ray laser.

You should do one of those things. They're really fun.
