Blord EDC laser Shadow GF1 638nm

It is the stock driver of the GF1 host. It has also an electronic switch. You need to push and hold the button to turn on/off and for the modes.
The hardest part is the heatsink of this small host. The surface is running tapered and not straight like a cyclinder.
Because the host and the sink is so small it offers no perfect heatsinking when running at 1Watt. The output is dropping very fast.

It is still over 1 Watt and as long it is not dropping in the future I wouldn't worry about the output.
A similar setup in a much bigger host has a stable output. Like this one.

Dear all:

IMO this GF1 is no problem but different LPM's issue.

After getting GF1, I meter it straight away by laserbee 5W Ophir, I got this chart as below

Blord also sold me two Dominator, the chart of the first one Blord gave me is 3W peak as below.

I meter it is 2.7W peak as below

the chart of the second copper Dominator Blord gave me is 2.7W peak, and I meter it is 2.3W peak (Didn't save the photo, maybe will meter it again if needed)
so it is just different LPM's issue. I really dunno which chart is most correct, but lasers themself are totally no problem IMO.

By the way,
Dear Norbyx:
your review is awesome, much better than my review. Nice job.

Yeah I am not worried.
Now Blord what LPM do you use? Just wondering.

pretty sure he uses an ophir

Well troublesome used an ohpir with a laserbee 5W.... so there has to be some other reason. Even at the top of the heads %error that is 5% and both to the extreem it would be a 10% error from one head to another even if it would be a RARE case. In the case of the dominator the laser should have measured at least 2789nm.... and it didn't so.... could it be the LPM? I don't know but it does sound strange.

I have an Ophir LPM, http://laserpointerforums.com/f70/diy-ophir-lpm-78856.html
I don't think the Ophir LPM is wrong and I have still the Lasersbee 2.5Watt USB LPM. Both LPM can be compared to the same laser.
Remember that I measure the laser from a cold start. The diode are temp sensitive.
Maybe your ambient temp is very high in Costa rica.

not all ophirs are the same but it also matters what the LPM unit itself is. iirc Blord has a nospin ophir and it may just run eagle eye (laserbee's) data logging interface

EDIT: or he chimes in right before me :na: but still looks like it uses eagle eye data logging

Well I do live in the tropics but at 3600 ft. over sea level. The ambient temperature is always arround 25-27 celcius.
