i have been seeing bench top ps showing up on ebay recently and for good prices. so i bought one $50.00 a good buy i think. works great and is nice to have ps ready to use for experiments and then build portable ps for the diodes. here are 2 pics :)

no the guy was selling them for a place that went out of business he only had 3 at buy now thy went FAST. just search ebay for dc power supplys there are all kinds on there.

$50 sounds like a great deal on that power supply! Does it actually go up to 50 volts? Thats pretty unusual for such simple bench suppies, most do only 20 or 30.

yes  i tested it with my dvom it is at 51v and 2.1a bk makes higher dc ps. the new 07 1711a is 0-60 v and 0-2 a ;)

all the PSU's i see on ebay cost a fortune, although some of the older styles use big heavy shunted transformers, so shipping them to australia is NOT cheap.

just keep looking on ebay you will find one cheap and will be werth the shipping. it took 3 months be for i found one ;)
