It's right after "MORE INFO" and it says This diffraction limited zoom beam expander offer 1-10X magnification

His BE looks like it's a mile from the laser lens ???






I'm going to try using a Sanwu G7 lens to start with....

G7 lens
It has the same low divergence beam profile as 3-elements lens but its larger mirror receives more light from the laser diode which improves the output by 15% ultimately when compares to 3-element lens.

Advantage 85% efficiency, long focal point and tight beam profile.

It may be adjustable to give 1x-10x expansion at the aperture, but that doesn't mean it'll be properly collimated at 1x or anywhere between, until 10x. You can't have variable expansion and collimation with a two lens BE. It's just a two lens refractive telescope.

Right, you would need a 3rd relay lens, at least in the ones I have been looking at.

Also the threads for the old Jet 10X are M25 x 0.5 the new Mini is M18 x 0.75

I have a M25 x 0.5 tap on it's way to me.....

Oh, and the G7 is a long focal length single element that will give you a 7mm exit beam diameter, I mean 7mm wide right out of the G7, it's not what you want, you need a G2, try them and see, the G2 will exit a much tighter beam.

Just look at the exit of the G7, it's wider for a reason.


A true variable expander will have an adjustment for magnification and another for focus. Where Jet is saying 1 - 10X I believe they mean as you focus it, that is it's focusable and not a fixed lens/lens pair.

How can Sanwu's beam expander be more versatile when it's fixed at X3 and the jetlasers beam expander can be adjusted from no expansion at X1 up to X10 expansion and anywhere in between plus jetlasers is fully focusable, I don't know if Sanwu's has a adjustable focus or not......
It's my opinion not fact. I own both and while I would consider buying more Sanwu BE's I feel 1 JL BE is enough. I don't know if you own either of these. You have to be able to interpret engrish yes engrish. It's not safe to base your argument on assumptions. Wait till to have them in hand and then call bullshit. JL will take the input and output x10. SW will take input and output x3.3. You can control input but do not forget to consider the incedent angles there are limitations. Your coming across the wrong way. Do you really think we are trying to feed you bad info? Your reply makes you look like an ass. I value being proved wrong. I don't want to be arrogant while ignorant. That's no way to go through life.

It will work well if the beam diameter created by the g7 lens does not exceed the diameter of the input lens. Less if it does. For newbies that refers to lens facing the laser. So what I'm saying is to get the lowest divergence possible use a g7 lens as long as it does not create a beam with a diameter greater than what the input lens allows.

I wasn't "coming across" as anything ? I was just repeating what I had read at jetlasers site and asking questions about it ?

You assume way too much, like WHY in the world would I think you are trying to feed me bad info ??? I wasn't thinking anything even remotely close to anything like that ??? WOW where did you get that from ??? I'm not arguing anything or assuming anything ???

What you just said seem to be the same as Sanwu's description of the two lens....

G2 - Less concentrated beam over long distances and affect the beam profile

G7 - It has the same low divergence beam profile as 3-elements lens long focal point and tight beam profile

Nonsense ! all I have done in this thread is repeat what I had read elsewhere and asked questions about anything I didn't understand about what I had read....

Your way off base as well ??? "He especially likes it when he is right" ??? I haven't disagreed about anything in this thread ?!?

I've seen this before ! A few of the locals are becoming irrational and have begun to make wild assumption about my motives as it pertains to me asking question about aspects of beam expanders and their interaction with different laser lens and so they are becoming paranoid, That's my cue to run far, Run fast from here for awhile.......................................
