I lived in San Francisco for some time. ;) Still I do not get it... I know there are troubles with high powers in portables, but does saying 1 mW instead of 1 W on web allow the customs to release it? Maybe on fake sticker...

Thanks... I see the 2 choices now and understand
that choosing [1mW] will be a 1500mW Laser while
choosing [5mW] will be a 5000mW Laser.

Do you test the Lasers before you send them out ??
If so what model Laser Power Meter are you using ??

I guess those power numbers and other specs are just taken from manufacturer. The question is how they will argue the unaware customers with lower - real numbers, when they found this laser sold with fake specs at same price somewhere else? Looks, like here LPF is needed to get the reference from, but is that sufficient for making money?
 
Well... if it is sold as a 5 Watt then I'll want my $$$
back if it is not at least close to that and the Laser
should not be sold as a 5 Watt.

I understand that it's only $43 but it is not sold as
a 1000 Watt Laser either.

True Jerry but this is what most of the CN sites do. Not condoning it and yes it is dishonest, however Im just saying people should be aware of what they are buying. If you have a 5 W laser advertised on a CN site for half the price of the diode alone, dont be surprised when you get a < 1 W laser...Most people couldn't tell the difference anyway and thats what they prey on. Those that do, would have to post the item back to CN at their cost and with tracking (or it will never arrive...) to get a PP refund and this makes it often too expensive for people to do.

Basically as stated before, all these CN sites are buyer beware. Inform yourself first about what you are buying and check to see whether the item is commonly reproduced. I was looking at a https://www.amazon.com/Mitutoyo-500...spons&keywords=mitutoyo+digital+caliper&psc=1 a while back and found out that there are many knock-off products everywhere, including I might add at Banggood. The original item costs around $ 100 and the cheap ones around $ 30. In such an instance I would never buy this caliper from a CN site as you are almost guaranteed of receiving a fake. I hasten to add that you could theoretically get a fake from Amazon as well, as identical products from all sellers are kept in the same bins and amazon just gets one out to fulfil an order. :( Thankfully returning to Amazon, isnt usually a problem! :)

Banggood is however good for certain things, as is Fasttech etc. If you want cheap hosts, or components, leds and even their range of Eachine products they are good.:beer:

I agree with you 100% for any Chinese sellers that
don't know us.

On the other hand a Chinese seller that registers
on LPF (BangGood) and makes sales pitches and
review offerson their Laser merchandise SHOULD
be aware that we are not noobs about Lasers and
Laser Power measurements no matter how the
Advertising Hype is presented...

Like I said, if a BangGood Laser is sold as a 5 Watt
then I'll want my $$$ back if it is not at least close
to that.:beer:
