Working on another 685nm build and I'm looking for a driver capable of 50mA.

I normally use ghostdrives, but he's not around for a while, and unreachable. So I'm a little stuck here.

What is your host ? The driver depends on the diode on one side and host/battery on the other side.

Actually any driver will do as long you have the right set resistor for that driver.
My 685nm laser is build in a C6 host with the DX buck driver running on one 18650 cell.

Pen host.

I don't have any resistors lying around :/ I could gut my other 685 build and harvest that driver, but I'd rather not have to go to those extremes.

The Flexdrive maybe ? It is small enough for a penhost and it is in sale now.

I think the lowest flex drive goes to is 65mA. I heard that the 685's were not so good over 50mA.

If you are stuck you could try modding a moh linear. I realise it will waste a lot of power as heat, but at 50 mA it shouldn't be too bad. I once ran a mits 500 with Vf of, IIRC, around 2 or 2.3 V off a moh linear @ 1.35 A. Wasnt ideal but it worked.

Edit: BTW it also worked with only 1 cell, as the Vf of the diode was so low.;)

PM matt, he can probably get you a 50ma mohgasm driver.

Best bet might be ripping a driver from a 5mw green module(with pot), I think they will go down to 50ma.
