Well that's as far as i go until the LPM tests are posted.
Not that i don't trust bhwollen, it just makes more sense to me... :yh:
For what it's worth, you can probably expect a +/- of 15%. If that makes the difference for your bid, it's kind of silly. Really, whether this is 1,200 mW or 1,400 mW (or dead in the center) is almost inconsequential.
To be honest, I can't tell the difference between 900 and 1100, between 1300 and 1500, etc - either in "burning" or in visual brightness. When I got my LPM, I was shocked at which lasers metered over and which metered under what I expected.
Think about it this way - could you tell the difference between a 57 and a 63 mW green laser? I certainly couldn't - and that's a 10% difference right there. The same principal holds true at high powers. You can tell 1800 from 1200, but I would challenge anyone to pick out 1200 from 1300, etc. You're not going to end up with a 700mW laser here, and I'm sure if you did, BHWOLLEN would back you up.
I say bid, and be jolly - this is a cool laser at a great price - and it's going to beat the socks off an Arctic no matter what it meters at precisely. My $0.02.

And i have mad respect for doing that.
