Auction: 1.3W+ 445 Hotlight

when you buy a cpu they dont test the vid and tell you what it is :P

No, but generally there is a warranty, with Intel/AMD in place if it fails or isn't up to spec.

I mean there is virtually no difference between Intel core i7 920-950, except that the 950's have slightly more stringent standards. Quite similar to diodes in a way. Also we're talking about mass produced items vs one of a kind hand built.

Unfortunately with lasers, I don't expect a laser I buy on here to have too much of a warranty... so I would want it to be up to spec to begin with.

IMO, better to err on the side of caution.

I would be interested in knowing what the output of the driver during load was.
I can live with any a140 as long as its output looks normal.

Actually, my guess is this laser is close to 1.4W. I say 1.3W to be safe because I don't want to piss anyone off. At minimum this laser is 1.3W. But that being said, I refuse to sell it till I know for sure what the actual power is. The day I get my LPM is the day this auction ends. So stay tuned folks

Edit: Woaahh, I was on page 3 and I didn't know there was a page 4. Thanks for all the kind words. I owe jake and rhd a crap load of rep.

Its just that I wont be using it for anything that I would need to know the exact output:D

Believe me, I don't need anything with half the accuracy needed for experiments. :D

Honestly, with lower power lasers, difference is negligible, I would never be able to tell a 50mw laser from a 60mw, and in this example that's a difference of 16-17%. I realize that the same is true for higher power lasers, so a 1w laser vs 1.2, or even 1.4, it's no big deal on paper.

Psychologically though, +- 200mw is a lot.

I admire your integrity, just hope I am not away the day it goes down, I got bad timing most the time

hope the Ups man pays you a visit in the morning :san:

got to wait a few more weeks to get my LPM, but cant wait.

Thats the issue man, it didn't ship through ups. It shipped through canada post. :undecided:

There's your problem! lol
Anyways... assuming the current bid is still $147, i would like to bid $150

Wait till the LPM test gets here. I have a feeling this sucker is a killer diode :eg:

Yeah Bruh... I've thought that far ahead lol

Shipping to a FPO AE address is the same as shipping in the US... essentially. :yh:

One question Morbid, you do realize you must pay shipping to Afghanistan, correct?

I hope its not like Iraq, DHL is the only folks that shipped to me and it was always slow and high priced.

I got a ups store by my house make shipping easy. I think I paid 15$ to ship a whole computer(15+lbs) last month form TX to CA 4 days insured

be safe by the way, if you win, I could spot someone pointing a laser like that from quite a bit away :P

Yeah DHL isn't the only shipping Co. here, they let USPS ship here pretty often.
Depending where your shipping from your looking at about 10 days avg, but every time i order books from Barnes and Nobles the package gets here in UNDER 5 days. But I've never had to pay extra to ship here... they either ship to FPO, or don't.

and yeah, I'm pretty discrete with my laser play :)
