Not in the military, but working for them as a civilian subject matter expert for their tactical satellite systems. Right now I am at Mosul Dam on a small Italian base where both Italian and US forces are working together.

Wow ...! The NATO FORCE is Allied, there are also Our colleagues Carabinieri you know they ?

Alaskan Civilian Hero  ceers Bro !

Not sure, most speak Italian of which I know none. The have a large bunch of dark feathers in their helmets.

No they are not , the ones that you say are the Bersaglieri , the Carabinieri have the beret with the side of a Flame Inside are the initials RI = Repubblica Italiana.

100% correct

Bersaglieri

:can:
Italy - Carabinieri
Lieutenant Colonel, service uniform
The Carabinieri, the military constabulary, can be recognised by the black uniform with a red stripe on the trousers. It was designed by the Italian fashion house Valentino. The cap bears the symbol used by nearly all military constabularies: an exploding grenade

Exact Encap ! the ones with the black feather are the Bersaglieri ! and the dark suit is an Officer of the Carabinieri , to be precise, a Lieutenant Colonel

Both the armed forces wear camouflage , and have the left side arm the distinctive NATO ALLIED FORCES and the other the shield of Italy ! Instead, the colonel of the carabinieri shown in the figure is divided in ordinary service ,but "on the field" he also wears him the camouflage with the degrees placed on the chest with a scretch of the adhesive, and not on the back like in the picture ! Then there are Your american soldiers , Ships, Seals , a J Soc , Marines ...etc....

Feather hat?? MASH/Korea
- Max Klinger-- but his was white... j/k

hak: Hardly. Not in any way related to Sgt. Klinger's feathers or any aspect of the Klinger character. lol

"The Bersaglieri (Marksmen in English) are a corps of the Italian Army originally created by General Alessandro La Marmora on 18 June 1836 to serve in the Army of the Kingdom of Sardinia, later to become the Royal Italian Army. They have always been a high-mobility light infantry unit, and can still be recognized by the distinctive wide brimmed hat that they wear (only in dress uniform in modern times), decorated with black capercaillie feathers. The feathers are usually applied to their combat helmets. Another distinctive trait of the Bersaglieri is the fast jog pace they keep on parades, instead of marching."

"The modern Bersaglieri have served, as part of the Garibaldi Bersaglieri Brigade, as peacekeepers in the Multinational Force in Lebanon, and in Yugoslav and Somali Civil Wars, and were also active in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Bersaglieri traditions are still stressed. The Bersaglieri collar patches are crimson-red "flames". Enlisted troops still wear the red fez. Officers wear black berets with their ordinary uniforms, but the feathered "vaira" in ceremonial uniform. They also wear black gloves, while other Italian regiments wear white ones. Each Bersaglieri unit had a band called a "fanfara", who played their instruments at the run while on parade. The "fanfara" does not contain percussion instruments. Today only the Garibaldi Brigade, Ariete Brigade and 7th Bersaglieri regiment retain a "fanfara". "

The Bersaglieri have an interesting history and long list of accomplishments. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bersaglieri
