To answer the original questions: lasers are not toys and should be treated with respect. Sure, we like to have fun with them, but that doesn't mean we should use them recklessly. The same goes for firearms and fireworks.

I always thought the glowdye guy was weird from the start. Does anyone remember, "Oh yeah I can get a pound of that stuff for $10" (referring to the luminecesent dye stuff) Did that ever materialise???
