Anyone (pref in Canada, but US is ok) able to make a few 3.8mm laser diode modules?

I decided to investigate a potential new source of somewhat unique laser diodes (admittedly, they may not peak everyone's interest)

I'm going to do a tear-down / tutorial / walkthrough for everyone to follow along with. The projector is ordered and on its way. However, the one hang-up is that I don't have the ability to make myself a module/housing for the 3.8mm diodes I'll be dealing with.

Can anyone here make me a couple diode modules/housings for 3.8mm diodes? Basically, the size of aixiz modules, but with a 3.8mm diode mount, instead of 5.6mm. Otherwise, just pretty much the same deal as an Aixiz would probably work perfectly.

I'm of course willing to pay / cover the costs. I'd love to find someone in Canada, but this isn't strictly necessary.
 





a small adapter made from alum may work too instead of having to machine a whole module.. that can be tedious.
 
Turning that small of an adapter can be quite tedious as well, though. Wow, 3.8 ID x 5.6 OD x ~2mm. :eek: Know any jewelers :D
 
(5.6-3.8) / 2 = 0.9mm thick. I think that would be harder than creating a module.
 
I hit up wannaburn - worst case scenario, 0.9mm isn't a horrible thickness to just fill with arctic silver. But I'd rather do this right if given the opportunity.

0.9mm is still quite a gap to cover, it will definately be a significant thermal resistance.

Agreed.

Again, its worst case scenario. I'm hoping someone will have the tools to make a 3.8mm module.

LOL, think TJ just called me a jeweler :D

Im waiting on a new set of end mills to do these holes.. I offered
a module to Dave, so I can make an extra if needed...

Im going to try with the bits that I have, problem is copper likes
to break dull, small bits :banghead:

Worst case, I will make them out of brass..
 
Hey thanks :) thats fantastic.

for my purposes at least, aluminum would be a ok. these will be running under 100mw.
