Hi,
You not need to message them about the $300.00 shipping cost they state. On the link for the diode were is says 300.00 shipping just click on the words ( see Details) and it will show you that it is in US dollars. So They are charging you 65.00 for the diode and 300.00 fo shipping.
Run away quickly....

^^ This is actually common procedure for alot of Chinese companies heading into their seasonal holidays. I guess this procedure works, although id assume it drives away customers who stumble upon their products and dont realise whats going on. And when it doesnt work, they make a huge profit on shipping :ROFLMAO:

I wonder what is this spring Chinese holiday. I never buy from people who overprice shipping.

It's the holiday surrounding Chinese New Year. Basically the whole country shuts down in some form or other - just something you have to get used to if you want to do business with companies in China and it's neighbours in the first few months of the year.

So after a virtual eternity in US customs I received the diode today. Bad news:( it is a #$%^ing three beam diode. I sent the seller a message asking if maybe they shipped the wrong part. Will report back with their response.

Hi, There are 3 types of those diodes 638nm /9mm .Three beam , two beam and single. The two beam I run at 2.2A and it puts our over 2W's . With a 3 E lens it cuts the divergence down some .

Its for projector use so has to be single beam. It was supposed to be a single beam diode. Who else is selling the single beam units? And what are the specs?

I took it up to 2A (max the supply could do) and man! they put out some red light.

Hi, They are cool if you don't mind the divergence , I have some two beam diodes and had sold a build with them in it in a 2 D cell mag light mod with a huge AL sink . Its on my sales page . The mag light will hold 2X32650's and with a spacer I make it can also hold 2X26650's
I thing they are really cool .

I have been meaning to post this for a while. I have a novel approach for combining the beams of these multi emitter diodes. Basically just two long FS mirrors redirecting the outer beams to overlap in the far field. works really good. The shorter the FL of the collimation lens the shorter the mirrors have to be. You find the sweet spot distance from the diode when the output beam is the narrowest and you are not clipping the center beam with the mirror sides. The combined beams can be run thru cylinders to correct the beam after they have been "combined"
