just finished this one up.....it's very purty wwooooooo
anyways, uses a darkhorse heatsink, and rkcstr adjustable driver at 120mA, was the first time i used an adjustable (have always used fixed)....but it turned out well.....

I remember some guy that was blowing LDs left and right..
and was going to give on this laser stuff a few months ago.....

Glad you stuck with it.... that is one sweet looking build... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

i like this build because i can make another module just like this one but with a LOC, then i can jsut loosen the heatsink and swap them out when i want red or blue.

but i also realised with these rechargeable batteries i can get above the min. voltage, so i'm going to use the smaller host next time, it's the same host design but like half the size.
 
i see you like the coleman host's. i've got the same host and it makes a nice laser. just a little hard to get the head off the first time.

CR2, and i realised with the 3.6v rechargeables i can hit the sweet spot voltage wise with only 2, so my next will be very small host.

the driver is a rkcstr microdriver, and the - wire is fed through a hole i drilled into the side of the module, (the ring around the module is pretinned wire (just for safe measure to make sure i get good contact between the module and - wire)

and the + wire come out the hole in the bottom of the module, then a little bit of expoxy, then the beveled top of a 12v security battery, so the bottom of the module makes contact to the + side of the batteries, and the - travels from driver - module - heatsink - host - clicky switch - Neg. side of battery

this is my fav design because there are no moving parts.....nothing to break or snap off, i think it makes for a nice and stable build.

i just realised.....instead of drilling the hole and feeding the neg wire through (the most difficult part of the build)
couldn't i just connect the - pad on the driver to the third pin on the phr? the case pin that isn't use.... this would make the build MUCH easier......and prettier


this is gonna be awesome :D
