Hi: Just bought a Wicked laser Core without reading the 39 reasons. How close to the 5mW power rating would it be? Lots of good reading here for sure!

google SELEM to learn more- aside from the travel cost SELEM is a great bargain for what all you get. Its not run for any profit and you will meets some of the nicest folks in the world there... see all the 'LEM' vids on YOUTUBE--
also there was talk of a GLLEM(Great Lakes) most likely to be held in Mich. or Wis.

your Core is most likley way over 5 mW-
in fact its very hard to buy a real 5 mW 532-I have just one- its a very pro laser pointer & was >$100

AFAIK all vets here with meters will check that for you at no charge- either in person or by shipping the laser to the member- it has always been something we do for the good of the forums.You could try to compare by eye with other green DPSS lasers

( but NOT with other colors)- & just in case you do not know 10 mW is NOT twice as ' Bright' as 5 mW to double 'brightness' you mustgo by a factor of X4- thus a 400mW would appear twice as bright as a 100mW and so on..

this explains why a 500 mw 532 looks to our eyes the same as a 600mW- and a 1000
mW not much 'brighter' than a 700 mW-- this also holds true when comparing diff. wavelengths- so your WL core looks like more laser than a 100mW 650 red.. except on a LPM..

at one time IIRC WL offered a free 532 core for any typos/mistakes found at WL- one of the few things we all liked about WL-- the rest--well... not so much..

Man....don't tell me that!! LOL cause just today I was assured by WL that I would be getting a real 5mW Core....guess I will find out soon enough.
Is your Core the current production?
Seems that these lasers are similar to the led modules on some flashlights,hit and miss on the "true' lumen rating! Thanks,Huck50

That's how I got mine, I pointed out a couple mistake on their website and got a free core
They said the higher the wavelength the brighter it is to the human eye. I corrected them on that. :banghead:

No idea, it's not a bad laser though. It's good quality for a pen laser.
