Finally have the chance to add 488 to my collection with the 60mW Pocket Series from Sanwu. :D Absolutly love this host, very small and uses a single 10440 battery.

The Pocket host:

This is a comparison with a standard "Newwish" type pen.

Some 488nm beamshots:

Here is the 488 alongside the other lasers in my collection, a matching set from Lilly Electronics. From left to right 660, 635, 532, 488, 450, 405.

And last but not least some attempts and writing with lasers using 20 second exposures, first with the 450nm, then the 488, and then all lasers together. :D

Nice! Glad you added to your collection. Great review with some very nice beam shots. I am out of rep at the moment. Will remember to give you more when I can.

Edit: Was able to give you the rep I promised. You are very close to 5 million if someone will push you over the edge. :anyone:

E & E, that's a great addition to your pen collection; Sanwu makes some beautiful lasers!

Your last photo actually looks very good, with all the wavelengths turned on at the same time. :yh:

Thanks for sharing!

Very cool! That part of your wall is a perfect 'screen'! I love the multi-colored shots, picturing you turning them on and writing and as fast as possible and getting the next one going before the shutter closes! Fun stuff, thank you for sharing!!

It took a bit of practice and a couple messed up pictures to get right. :D I find that is the only disadvantage with the rear clicky switch of the Pocket series, it is harder to hold like a pen to write and still be able to activate the switch, the side button momentary switches are perfect for that.

There were a couple times before I got the final result where I ran out of time partway through the writing: :D

Actually, the diode used for the 488nm laser is able to be driven harder in a larger heat sink. Mine is twice the power of the Sanwu lasers because the Sanwu's are so small that they can't be driven any harder because there isn't enough heat sinking to allow for it. Fog, or longer exposure time makes the beam more visible without using more power.

That is really nice. Just looked at the site and it's quite reasonable too. May just have to get one. +rep for bringing it to my attention.
