Hi everybody,
Received a 405nm, 700mw diode today.
Pressed it into a module, soldered on leads and got it fired up on my psu. I have run it up to 450ma. Can I safely push it anymore than this? Any input is appreciated.
Also, the case is not neutral, is that an issue in my build?
Thanks,
Danny

Hi VV,
Yes anywhere from 900mA to 1.2A's with good sinking , the choice is yours, I run mine at 1A.. hope this helps a little buddy..

Rich:)

hi VV,
Oh crap so sorry buddy, The current setting is 450mA.. G2 gives about 700mW;s

Rich:)

That diode is case nutral, who told you it isn't? I have never heard of a 405nm that is case negative or case positive.

What 405nm diode is that?

Hi Rich.
This is the S06J 700mw, not the 209, 900mw
Danny

Then you have it just right at 450mA

Hi,
No there was misunderstanding on my part .. Well i have 3-BDR-209 sleds to harvest. And wish you well on your build. Cant wait to check it out.

Rich:)

Lol, speaking of checking out, it just blinked once and died on me. Crap, I have another one on the way, hope it lasts.
Thanks Rich

Hi

Sorry to hear that hey i had my fill to with dead diodes to don't feel bad. Don't give up keep on building buddy.

Rich:)

Lol....I'm sure, especially with 405nm it seems. I'll just keep killing them till I get a good one.
Danny

jordan had some nice nano drivers that are set to 500ma and are very good for the 12x
And the 16x if you don't mind a little less power, and if you buy them in module with diode you get warranty!

Hi BBB,
I have 4 nano's and you can set them in ranges i'll mail angelos to see what to do with these. I know from what he tells me they are great for the405nm diodes. I have 3 sleds to harvest so at least i have them on hand..

Rich:)

Yes the old nano,s were set to 500ma apparently now the new ones are-

275mA/500mA/1.1A
Selectable by the three resistors on the back side. no bridge is 275mA, 1 and 2 bridged 500mA, 1, 2 and 3 bridged 1.1A.:)

Great for the Mitts 500 also even though there boost drivers!
