Rog, you can't really think that we are going to be able to build one of those...

Are you going to include links to the exact box and components? I can't believe you got all of that to fit inside that box! Now you have a couple of motors with mirrors on a different power supply?? Let alone three different lasers and a sled.

That's incredible!

Thats simply amazing Rog! :D Its unbelievably compact inside that tiny little box and the fact that you got a spiro in there is even more amazing. Not only were you one of the first people to make a hand held white laser pointer but you even topped that one too!

BTW, I'm doing your mod right now (the one with the ps3 sled).

@hydro15, good luck with the build, if you need any help let me know ;)

On the tutorial it gives details of the box sizes, they (I used 2 to make this) came from ebay and were not marked with a manufacturers name or number. I have also specified the motors the rest is down to what you can find as I tend to work from a bottomless scrap box::)

thanks to the rest of you for the comments, and as I still cannot see any of the pictures that are posted on the thread I will brighten it up with a new one....

EditI could not bear to see this thread with all the pictures missing so I have edited all the jpg's into the posts, I appologise if this means that others see 2 copies of the pictures....

Rog, when you finish the tutorial (using the PHR sled), will you post it here in this thread?

I am hosting the tutorial on Hacknmod for various reasons. I have had to edit it down quite a bit to get it accepted so what I will probably do is to open a new thread in tutorials and mods to cover the inevitable questions members will want to ask. I am not happy that in its current form there is enough depth of information for a lot of people.

Sounds good Rog, please give us those links when you have them...

Is it already up on Hacknmod?

All I can say is... WOW!

...And a very nice tutorial. Just like I figured, it's going to be next to impossible to make everything fit like you did Rog!

Doesn't surprise me. Dude, I'd let you do heart surgery on me. And for that compliment, I will be happy to accept your offer to build me one of these! :D (Just wishful thinking, but if you do, I know it will be expensive)

The optics part should end up exactly the same as mine and the batteries are a known size...so you know you can get that part done and it will fit, I must admit that the spiro was not easy but I truly believe that anyone with a bit of nouce (and you have that in spades Jay) could do this, None of the motor mount part was done with machinary, all hand cut, bent and soldered.
I would love to see other versions ot this appear on the forum GO FOR IT!

My version of the "White" pointer

• Red laser: 650nm, 350mw, long open-can diode
• Blu Ray: 405nm, 100mw, PHR803T
• Green laser: 532nm, 50mw, IR filtered
Individual laser on-off switches allow you to control 7 different laser colors: Red, UV, Green, Magenta, Aqua, Yellow, and White.
Dimensions:
(L) 5in x (W) 2in x (H) 1.5in

This was the prototype. Next one will be even smaller and include input for TTL modulation, also testing alternate battery types. I figured AA's are very common and cheap but I want to know what you'all think!
