6x Sled LCC

Does anyone have any information on the long closed can (LCC) red found in the 6x sleds? Power vs. current graph hopefully. How do they compare to the LCC from the 4x sled?

You got a lot of good advice there-- Greenmechanic has given me plenty of help on those- and HE has one running at approx .5 Ws!!!!-- see his posts and video-

p s don't foget to protect your eyes,-thank and + rep those great vets for the help, AND a little $ donated to the forum is a wonderful way to 'payback' and 'pay forward' iMHO--Hak

We all need to be reminded every once in awhile that this forum is NOT free. You don't need to be able to give a lot of money to help. Click on "Donate Now" at the top of the home page or the recent posts page or in my sig below and send a buck. Over 300 members (and < 2K visitors) visit the forum every 12 hours. If just the members, reading the forum, with a PayPal account, just donated $2 a month, c0ld would never have to worry about funding the forum again.
Give a couple of Bucks (Quid, Looney, Mark, Euro, whatever) :thanks:

^ This is a good point. I donate when I can and feel it is the right thing to do. Funds may be tight at the moment, as I'm trying to help UK forum members in other ways, but I will be donating again in the future.

Dave says it all there.

as of now---Goal amount for this month: 393 USD, Received: 186 USD (47%)-- so at that rate we should make the 'goal' --not necessarily- those who support this forum with not only thier advice and help on lasers, but with donations have mostly already sent one in- many give more than 3 $ and more than once a month- 3 quarter pounders at Burger King- $3.25--momentary satisfaction-- send it here- best value for your dollar- and it lasts a whole month-IMHO-

I have found that unless I am extremely careful I will learn at least one new thing every time I visit LPF --

my last .02- the goal is not enough. 'You get what you pay for' and a nice thank you email from Avery..try it you'll like it.

I have dozens of modules out there, with the LCC from the 6X sled, running at 420mA. The LCC from the 6X sled puts out ~245mW with the stock aiXix at that current. Some of these are in "scanner" set-ups so will burn a long time.

I run my personal hand-held with one of these LCC's set at 500mA. I get 350mW with Jayrob's Merideth for aiXix mod lens from my hand-held.

Peace,
dave

@420mA don't expect much life from these. I was working on an RGV platform and mine were dying at less than 300mA with under 2hrs of run time total.

Even at under 200mA these things were blowing when left running for an hour at 100%.

Possibly the shorter duty cycle in a portable will aid in extending their life, but in a labby, I wouldn't exceed 150mW. And all this was with ample heatsinking.

The optics were always glass AR aixiz, and have pushed these LCC LD's upward of 500mA.. Don't expect much if running them constant.
