Thats a pretty basic host(ebay'ish) you'd be better off getting a 12/13mm module and pressing it into a host of your choice, might even be cheaper.

I do have no idea of building lasers or i dont have any tool to do that. I know how to solder but i do have no idea. Also this will be my first laser instead of a 5mw one i owned for before
Please make sure you have safety glasses! You can buy some good quality ones here:

If you buy this one it will be about 200mW and is focusable:

If you want a good burner in a small package, The BDR-209 diode is probably the best burning single mode diode you can get at the moment. My >300mw 650nm (red) does ok. But for brightness, go with a green laser. My 80mw 520nm (green) is way brighter then my 650!
If you do want to try to build one yourself, start with an easier build. Like a 501b host. You can get all the parts needed for one of those, and not have to worry about finding a grounding location and so forth. There are a ton of other good hosts too. But for cost and ease of build, the 501b is a great starter.
I use "request desktop site" of google chrome when browsingfrom mobile. It most of the time works
I do know to solder but i do have no idea about building lasers. Is it easy to get ALL parts for 501?
With some searching through the forum, I was able to find links to sources for everything needed. If you want to eventually try to build one yourself, just take your time and do the research to familiarize yourself with the basic components needed, and any tips you can find about working with diodes without killing them (i.e. fast soldering methods, as not to heat kill one. Or ESD protection to prevent killing one from static discharge.).
When I joined this forum, I didn't know anything about building a laser either. But with the researching and patience, I've completed a few builds now. :yh:
O-like aren't out to scam you. They're a legit site.Susie sent me a paypal request without any info about what they will send. If i accept that and if i dont receive my items i cant open dispute right? Should i accept that ?
