Just ordered myself one of these diodes and some modules from DTR. Will be building one as soon as they get here. This will be my first red build. Can't wait! Now I just have to decide which host I want it in.

I just ordered a sweet host from Ehgemus, but I think I'm going to use it for a higher power blue or a green build. Might just use the WF501B Host I have laying around and keep it a cheap build.

Nice build buddy i have 3 of those diodes sitting around. I built one in a 501B xdrive set to 900mA / G2 lens. Im building another 501B with that same 638nm but i will be setting the driver ti 1200mA or 1300mA. That diode can be driven by one or two 18650's. But ill be using one at that amperage to see what happens. Congratulations nice review )

Great build thread! Great pics!
I loved this build when I did mine. I actually think the wings when focused is kinda cool. But thats me. I also want to get that new snake tongue diode as well!
edit: wow this was an older thread to start! I ended up keeping this build in a C6 host powered by a SL 1.25 amp buck driver powered by a single 3.7 cell! Puts out still about 885mA!
