 ROLF  stop it, please --has to be a joke--is so fetched and out of the realm of even daydreams in so many ways at the same time---give me a break---this thread is killing me --I can't take it anymore----almost can't breath from laughing so hard
1. there exists cheapo chinese garbage quality "lab style" new exotic 25-30mW DPSS 565nm laser with an atypical for lasers wide bandwidth 565nm -575nm--the retail price one piece price is $30, and the only seller on the planet that has these for sale is a meaningless not very successful eBay reseller in Australia whose eBay nick is "laserlandaustralia2016" however it might be a secret new direct diode technology nobody but this Australian reseller sells, knows anything about, or has ever heard of.
and
2. there is a Chinese company selling what appears to be similar @$30 which they claim is a laser but according to their specs the light source is a 3W, G10 socket, SMD 5730 HID LED that outputs 565nm https://wholesaler.alibaba.com/product-detail/factory-price-yellow-laser-outdoor-holiday_60746019584.html
The inmates have taken over the asylum again, it seems :can:
I have been thinking that this has to be an LED, but not having one to look at and test, I have to go with what other members have said about it. I am certainly no where near ready to order one of these, but I do want to see what someone who I trust tells me about one. It seems so highly unlikely that I am still very skeptical about these.
Stab in the dark, but defocus the beam and have a look at the beam profile. You should be able to tell and led apart from a laser.
No way it can be LED. Led will spread very quickly. Mosc007, make pics of warning label please, I wanna see what’s written there.
I can when I get home from work. But the Aussie seller puts his own stickers over the original when he wires them up and sets the current. He does supply a 12 months warranty with all his lasers. He also puts a security seal on the diode end so he can tell if they have been tampered with.
He removes the Plugs and Sockets from the driver board for the Diode and Fan and hard wires them.
I did assemble mine into an Ally box tonight at work. Much nicer and easier to use now.
I have pointed the bean about 50 meters inside the building and it holds collimation very well.
As much doubt as there is over these modules, I have no idea how they work, but I have no doubt the one I received is a genuine 565nm Laser.
I don't believe its LED either, just trying to think of ways to prove it isn't.
If you can't think of a way one could send a working unit to the LED Museum for testing maybe? Or measure the wavelength with a diffraction grating, metric ruler and a laser of known wavelength.

Just I clear things up everyone.
I am the seller selling the 565nm laser modules with there only to be 3 to sample from a friend.
Yes they are DPSS.
I have more sample 565 and 575nm modules that are 30mW and with G2 lens coming in the next couple of days.
