565nm From LaserLandAustralia

I have been thinking that this has to be an LED, but not having one to look at and test, I have to go with what other members have said about it. I am certainly no where near ready to order one of these, but I do want to see what someone who I trust tells me about one. It seems so highly unlikely that I am still very skeptical about these.

 ROLF  stop it, please --has to be a joke--is so fetched and out of the realm of even daydreams in so many ways at the same time---give me a break---this thread is killing me --I can't take it anymore----almost can't breath from laughing so hard

1. there exists cheapo chinese garbage quality "lab style" new exotic 25-30mW DPSS 565nm laser with an atypical for lasers wide bandwidth 565nm -575nm--the retail price one piece price is $30, and the only seller on the planet that has these for sale is a meaningless not very successful eBay reseller in Australia whose eBay nick is "laserlandaustralia2016" however it might be a secret new direct diode technology nobody but this Australian reseller sells, knows anything about, or has ever heard of.
and
2. there is a Chinese company selling what appears to be similar @$30 which they claim is a laser but according to their specs the light source is a 3W, G10 socket, SMD 5730 HID LED that outputs 565nm https://wholesaler.alibaba.com/product-detail/factory-price-yellow-laser-outdoor-holiday_60746019584.html

The inmates have taken over the asylum again, it seems :can:

It's now looking like the Aussie Ebay seller might have bought them from Alibaba or the same supplier they are getting them from.

This Aussie seller is no Fraud. He has been around a long time and has a 100% Feedback rating on Ebay. I have bought from him before. I would not have paid $155 AUD from someone I dont know for something that does not sound real. It does seem strange though his Ebay username. He is definatly not Laserlands. He is in Australia, WA Perth. I have spoken to him on the phone.

All I can suggest is you buy one for yourself. As strange as it sounds, these are Real. I have one, I have tested it on calibrated Spectro. I can see the color of the beam.

The Chinese may have sloppy manufacturing. But they do have some smart people. And not being Capitalists the selling price is actualy related to the manufacturing cost.

I still feel these are related to the Doc I posted from the Macquarie University in Sydney. The Development was done in China for the ND:SFAP Crystal for 565nm DPSS.

If it's possable to get a Narrow Band Collimated beam from a LED I would love to know how to do it. We could have almost any color laser we want. Even harder would be Speckle pattern. This laser does have a speckle pattern. Similar to what I have seen on my 473nm.

Other than the info I have already posted, What else could I add do to show it's real ?.

The price seems unlikely. But 565nm DPSS is certainly possible using a ND:SFAP crystal.

It seems like 565nm Laser Diodes started develpment 16 years ago. From the Sophia University in Tokyo

Maybe there is no commercial use for them hence why only Universities have been playing with them.

As for it being an LED I can't see that possability at all. The Bandwidth of a 565nm LED is very wide. See Pic.

Stab in the dark, but defocus the beam and have a look at the beam profile. You should be able to tell and led apart from a laser.

No way it can be LED. Led will spread very quickly. Mosc007, make pics of warning label please, I wanna see what’s written there.

I can when I get home from work. But the Aussie seller puts his own stickers over the original when he wires them up and sets the current. He does supply a 12 months warranty with all his lasers. He also puts a security seal on the diode end so he can tell if they have been tampered with.

He removes the Plugs and Sockets from the driver board for the Diode and Fan and hard wires them.

I did assemble mine into an Ally box tonight at work. Much nicer and easier to use now.

I have pointed the bean about 50 meters inside the building and it holds collimation very well.

As much doubt as there is over these modules, I have no idea how they work, but I have no doubt the one I received is a genuine 565nm Laser.

I don't believe its LED either, just trying to think of ways to prove it isn't.

My alibaba supplier doesn’t have stickers on the units either, so most likely Aussie got them from him and applied his own stickers and warranty voids.

If you can't think of a way one could send a working unit to the LED Museum for testing maybe? Or measure the wavelength with a diffraction grating, metric ruler and a laser of known wavelength.

I ordered two units from the alibaba seller and it should ship tomorrow. I’ll keep you updated on what I find about these, I’ll even tear one apart if it’s 565nm or 575nm.

The Screen Capture in my first post if from one of my Spectrometers. It has been calibrated with the Mercury and Argon lines from a CFL as well as a 473nm DPSS.

The calibration seems quite accurate. It shows my 490nm and my 505nm is within the Specs on DTR's page who Spectro'd the diodes when he received them.

Even if my calibration is out a small amount my Capture shows these are 565nm.

I have taken a Pic of mine. The Aussie seller has actually put a label over the top of the label from his supplier. You can see the original suppliers label under his. I have spoken to him tonight and he did not get these from the Alibaba seller. The Alibaba seller could not supply them. There seems there are a few manufacturers working with the new crystal. There was only a small number of 565nm manufactured. There should be a lot more 575nm around very soon.

PS. Keep an eye on the Photolexicon forum. They are also talking about the 565nm laser. These are cheap and real. Soon there will be enough of us with one that it will become fact. LPF was first though :)

I have also added a pic of my assembled unit.

Just I clear things up everyone.
I am the seller selling the 565nm laser modules with there only to be 3 to sample from a friend.

Yes they are DPSS.

I have more sample 565 and 575nm modules that are 30mW and with G2 lens coming in the next couple of days.
For more info you can contact

Thank you for accepting my invitation to join LPF. I hope there will be many more members here and on Photolexicon soon to prove these lasers are real.

Even with my review and the information I posted there are many members that have doubts about this being a real DPSS laser and not a scam.
