Hello,

Searching for the web i found in aliexpress various green lasers with specs between 1000mw - 5000mw by 30 - 40$ is it possible?
Or is as i suppose a fake?too good to be true....

lol, you would be lucky if that was 50mw of green light. 5000mw as far as i know has not been achieved yet in a handheld, max is about 1w from places such as CNI,jetlasers etc.

Judging from the pictures on there website it's not even 50mW ^^
 
lol ok, its probably like a 5mw pot modded to its death or something, but no way is it a 5000mw, a 500mw costs about $300
 
lol blord, it would be pretty wierd to make the same typo twice, even if they are chinese and dont know english properly
 
I remember looking at green laser pointers a loooong while back, and was shocked to find up to 1000mW green lasers. In a newwish host! :crackup:

Pretty sure I still have the links somewhere in case anyone wants a laugh.

I think these kind of outlandish claims are more or less designed for the one in 1000 who might just say f*ck it, and buy one.
 
They say that is amazin 5000mw it looks stronger like my 1W blue one, of course it won't be 5000, but if it have 500mw must be cool...
Search 5000mw green in aliexpress and you will know what i say, the two or three what appears in fist place are about 250-300 (this is more normal) but the laser in 5th place is the cheaper says something like promotion
Almost i trusth him! I'm so noob :)
In other web i found a firedragon vii 808nm 500mw (FDA Certified Power) for 48$ is a good deal? Is FDA Certification a accurate power measurement? or all is a big lie?

Sorry for this stupid questions, but i prefer to ask prior being scammed!!! :)

I have tried to be friendly and offered corrections at a few China shops and it seems that accuracy just like QC seems to be at the very bottom of thier list of priorities if there at all.

I have heard of corrections being used by WL-- even giving a free green pointer for finding them--this may be one of the very few good qualites of WL. For sure DinoD does not care at all..too bad.... guess they are like that because they can..

Either that or they dont believe me when I tell that that afaik there are no DPSS red diodes---duh!!

Thats why so few ever sold stuff at FeeBay (when they could)they would be making very few succesful sales as being 'not as described' would make for a LOT of refunds---like 99%.

I, personally, would not even read such things let alone making an order with them.

BTW you do know that IR lasers are both usually cheap and more or less invisiable--very few have any use to hobbiests.

BUY from a LPF member- thats good advice... hk

Cheapest 5W green laser I ran into was more or less $6,000. Maybe there should be a "reasonable power pointers" sticky...

As for the DPSS red diode, there are red diodes and there is red DPSS, but there is nothing inbetween. Unless you're nuts or speaking chinglish that is.

5000 µW -> YES
5000 mW -> NEVER !!!
