Just finished a couple of these lights . . .

Biggest challenge was proper heat sinking for that continuous 50W power LED . . .

The complete light is 24" tall for size perspective.

Bulb weights a couple of pounds alone .

Any specific application?

Awesome! whats the peak wavelength or the wavelength range?
also what was your total budget?
Interested!

I sell them for removing spots in conjunction with oxidizers on expensive Oriental rugs . . .
They use 50 One-Watt UV LED's in one COB assembly . . .
Frequency in naometers is proprietary . . .
My cost is several hundred . . .

So its a 50W COB UV Led with a magic wavelength ....

I would assume its between 365nm - 400nm , Unless they do 1W Chips at lower wavelengths but the most I have seen is 20mW per die much below 365nm from LED chip companies .

What wavelength is it?

Edit: unless by frequency, you were referring to wavelength, not pwm.

I'm sorry for being such a critic, but I don't find it very impressive when it just stands there unplugged. Turn that shit on. Show the COB.

Turn that shit on.

I can't help echoing that statement.

It's like building a 1000bhp super car then saying "we haven't turned the key yet, but you can take my word for it, it should be awesome.

The proof is in the pudding.

Get that $hit turned on.

I guess there truly is a market for everything, kudos to you for finding it. I agree with Ped and Cyp though, you're not impressing anyone without showing it's power.

We are testing several wavelengths at the moment .

I will post some UV photos next week . . .

This is a photo of the longest wavelength :
50WUV.jpg

Beam is ~18" in diameter.
Items are 50W Warm White LED's, Green Fluorescent wheel from C___o projector,
green switch cover from flashlight, hand tool and
UV Bulb showing glass lens assembly.
Had to reduce intensity in PhotoPaint for this image.

Yes, looks quite good! Any idea what the actual optical Po is? I assume your 50W rating is Pinput as given ballpark efficiencies I don't think you could passively cool a head with 50W optical output in such a form factor.
