So i got a laser diode 488nm 60mW where can i find a driver for it !
min is writen 486nm and max 490nm !
75 mA/110 mA any one have any idea if i can use like 150mA
:undecided:

Update i have this 2 hosts ready for it the black host has a focusing ring very nice if i don't use it i may install a 1W 532nm / the silver host i may use looks kinda nice. I may send the diode to DTR to press in a copper module the diode is a 5.6mm so tiny.

itial Electrical/Optical Characteristics:

Optical Output:60 mW
Peak Wavelength:488±5 nm
Threshold Current:≤0.03 A
Operating Current:≤0.1 A
Slope Efficiency:≥0.9 W/A
Operating Voltage:≤5.6 V
Horizontal Beal Divergence:≤10.0 deg.
Vertical Beam Divergence:≤23.5 deg.
Wavelength Temperature Coefficient:0.2 nm/℃
Polarization:TE

This might help you

I wouldn't overdrive something that expensive... just make a linear driver and set it to 100mA.

How much did you pay for it? Have you found a cheap-ish source?

yes indeed don't over drive this diode i seen some as much as $$$$ bucks which is un real. i posted the data sheet for it And Atom verified 100mA or less so there you go all info right here . from two sources.. Lets see some pics of the diode and how much you paid for it. Please reply...

Woah nice. Definitely don't overdrive something like that. Run it nice and easy. Can't wait to see this project get done.

I agree. Run it right at 100mW and double triple check everything during the build.
I've been asked quite a lot to build things for members with diodes that are quite expensive and even though it shouldn't be any harder than anything else I always decline because ANYONE can make a mistake and I can't bear the thought of something accidentally happening to one. So for those who have asked me don't take it personal. I'm all for helping others and consider myself to be a really kind person but I just can't take the risk. Would REALLY bother me if something went wrong. I'm not someone who would just be able to let it go if it was for someone else. If I blew my own oh well but not someone elses.
Again, please don't rush a build like this.
Wouldn't an s-mini work? Wait a second, I think that doesn't go quite low enough. Think it goes to about 125mA from my own testing.

Is this the same diode?

World Star Tech - 488 nm Laser Diode

I believe someone got a quote from that site for around $1000.

I got it from thorlabs.
i have some drivers just am afraid to use right know the diode is still in the static package ,i will see what driver lazzere used !
last year i was talking to lazeere why ware planing to do a joint purchase i may get another 473nm diode.

Oh my. You paid $2300 for it?! I couldn't do it. I'd be a nervous wreck. I wish you the best of luck on the project.

Edit: Maybe do 705nm next.

Alien, where did you get that black host from? Is that a blue LED light on it?

Yes its blue led and driver, no diode i got it from Laserpenshop
from some webpage from china !

Did you just get the 1? and it came that way as intended.
What is the driver capable of?

It came with a 45mW laser it was advertised at 1.5W hehe so took it a part and removed the driver and laser and then i installed my own driver and led
blue it was like $30 and it took forever to come like 45 days right know i have a x-boost S-Mini Adj. to 1.65A driver installed
