They're not identical. Look at the writing on the boardsIt looks to me like they are running a couple of their "regular" drivers in parallel.
The drivers appear to be identical.
They also look similar to the drivers used in their high power greens.
So it's not corrected at all. They just put the beam through an aperture. Likely your diode is pushing 1.4Watts now, and 60% is being absorbed by the aperture "blades". Cut out the aperture if you want to see real power.

doesn't look to be an aperture. Looks to be quite a long focal length lens though so this could well be losing some power. I'm not too sure what you can do to improve things. What's the outside diameter of the lens screw?
