3W peak, 2.9W stable Juggernaut 445 TEC Maglite build log

Re: Juggernaut 445 Maglite build log

So how many amps are you feeding to the TEC?

How is it holding that enormous power?

Also, how many amps are you drawing from the batteries?

This could provide a very stable and powerful setup, if the batteries hold out and TEC doesn't implode and consumes everything in a spontaneous fusion event.

Re: Juggernaut 445 Maglite build log

The maglite body does get quite hot after a couple mins, but the top HS stays cool the the touch.

Right now I'm direct driving the tec, it seems pretty good as is.
(just over 2A with these batteries)

And tail cap current is just under 4A

Impressive output ! These 9mm diode can surely pack a punch. :gun:

Re: Juggernaut 445 Maglite build log

Nice work and build. Can you run the tec independent from the primary power supply. Its a bit more expensive but they have micro brushless Tec running on cr132 sized cylindrical lipo cells. along with venting the head and a control unit ( haven't found one yet) may work ..just food for thought

Your 3W?....
