> 350mw putting out over 700mw - 532nm CNI PGL-III-C

Thanks for that, it is a verrrry nice replacement! I imagine a night beamshot is impressive as well. :)

Nice repaired/replaced unit you got there, CNI´s repair service seem to be worth the shipping costs for backshipping and the wait. They currently have my 50mW GLP-473nm which only outputed ~25-30mW. I hope I have as much luck with it as you, aryntha and RA_pierce with their PGL-473nm.

here are some beamshots. I need someone to teach me how to take better laser beam pics!

Looks good no mode hopping seen. :)

The better (non actively stabilized) DPSS lasers actually start out very low and "build power" as the diode warms up. Producing full power aka instant on usually results in declining power as it warms up. Some pumps produce ever so slightly shorter wavelengths cold and when warming up shift right into the 808nm niche that's producing ideal efficiency, etc. It's a lottery and it looks like you hit the mega millions there! Congrats!

Take care of that laser! I know it's been said 1000s of times but baby it and make absolutely sure it never falls from a table, etc. That would be enough to make Mel Gibson cry!

Just measured IR current draw - 3.1A with Sanyo, 3.0A with Sony cells. Both are 2600mah 18650's purchased from Larry@LPF.

Is this a reasonable current draw?

@60seconds ON the host body/head are completely cool. No noticeable heat at all.

I think 3 amps input is good for a 700 mw output.

That is about 6 watts input to the IR diode.
Roughly 1.5 watts out of 808nm.
Converted to 700 mw of 532nm.

Spec for 350 mw green is 2 amps input.

Thanks Larry!

Maybe I am missing something, but how do you buy from CNI? I never see any prices on any of their lasers? I just PDFs with specs.

i'm starting to shop around for a high-power green/532nm hand-held ... feel free to sell it to me used if you need : )
have a RayFoss 215mW now and I love it but I want more power
:eg:

Shameless promotion--JETLASERS GB #2(part 1) for overspec 532 PL-Cs is closing soon. see my thread in GB section.

How come they just dont post prices? Also, is there any tricks for getting them to lower the price for one? I herd they dont like sales of single units

Yes this is how it was 5-6 years ago. Buying four at a time was typically the min.

Have no idea. Have not dealt with CNI for five years.
It looks like they've improved divergence although I like to see it <1mR for greens.
