3405 Host Makes A Great 445 Build!

DTR, did you try that build with the battery holder I sent you?

Set up for 3 X 10440 in parallel? I'm curious to see how the 10440's in parallel can candle that kind of current...

I got my 10440 battery's today. Popped them in the battery holder put a button size magnet on the negative end to fit the holder in the host. At first it was unstable flickering. So I examined the holder and found that one of the batteries positive connection was not touching. I used a metal pick to bend up the tab. put it back in and it has worked great all day. I might also say the 14500 also drives this laser no problems.

Good to know...

I figured 3 X 10440's in parallel would work good for high current demand, but I did not actually test it...

Thanks for posting! :)

Just thought I would throw this up here as well. I have modded my tailcap to accept a 18650. This makes this host an even better canadate for a high power 445 build. Here is the Link showing how to modify the tailcap. I currently am looking to push a diode at 1.7A in this host. If everything goes as I have it planned I will have it up and running this week.

I have been putting 18650's in 3405 hosts for over a year now, I would suspect they are very good hosts for the 445 diode ;)
I make a custom spacer and top end for the cell to slide into which keeps it from rattling around inside the host.

I would be interested in seeing one of your spacers. But on the other hand I have to say when you tighten the tailcap it puts perfect pressure on the battery. I can shake it very hard and it does not rattle inside the host at all. But for a professional look it would be nice.

dohmniq, I sent your 3405 'Hot' option kit with 405-G-1 and other items today. (Wednesday)

Set at as close as I could to 1 Amp, per your request. The current setting is noted in the package...

Thanks!
