Re: One vote, one gift: vote for the hero of LPF in your mind

Well, 88 votes in 2 days and 400 gifts to go in the next 12 days. Would it be asking to much to post the poll/giveaway in the black blank area in the top header(lower left) of the website page? More would see it there and it ends on the 18th. Just a clickable link to this thread where you see it if on the forum.

I'm glad more than one unit is going out to be reviewed. I had mentioned 5 but since 3 diff wattage's are being sent it would be nice to see a little range. Maybe 6 units, 2 of each for review? We all know you could get a dud or a hot one. 2 of each would be a better idea I would think. Especially in the power department. I know other lasers are coming later, but what if a dud showed up in the 1st 3? It would not be representative of his product or really give a fair representation for sales of that one. If it was horrible, my guess is a replacement would be sent. Are we paying attention?

I like the advertised "ranging" mw idea for sales. If the price is right, quality good and the power output is represented accurately people will buy them if they feel its a good deal and not complain. Getting a way underspec from an advertised number rarely sits well with anyone.

I certainly am not in the running for one, but would like to see his product represented fairly. He does seem to be trying to be open, honest and listening.
How it's approached can make it a win/win or a lose/lose.
Food for thought.................and a  to wash it down.

I agree and have wondered about the same "what if" scenario..

One laser of one type is really not representative of every
same laser that will leave their shop...
As stated... What if the Laser is an Average Lasers or Cherry Picked
Super Laser or a Dud Laser...

WL sent out multiple copies of the same Lasers... That.. allowed
a comparison of the same Lasers...

With just one Laser of a type there is really not enough info...IMO

You do have a point there, it is quite likely that the assembly lines for the cheaper greens is not quite up to ISO 900x standards.
I imagine that the same standard size crystal arrays are assembled and then tested and roughly sorted by how much power they turned out to be able to handle.

Re: One vote, one gift: vote for the hero of LPF in your mind

I voted for daguin. Tech_Junkie and jayrob deserves too, but daguin is moderator for a reason. He cares about laser safety before go selling diodes to anyone, and knows plenty about many types of lasers.
the priceangels website is cool, but could be cooler. It is way too simple (and somehow slow, 10 minutes to load a page).

(hope it is not too late :P)

Re: One vote, one gift: vote for the hero of LPF in your mind

I voted for daguin.
He's honest, you can trust him and he is a great guy.
I would have voted TJ too but when I noticed that you can vote up to three members it was too late. (Sorry TJ:p)
Your site does not work (at least for me, it redirects me to: No Page Found)

Re: One vote, one gift: vote for the hero of LPF in your mind

I'm glad some you understand my rational. I'm not trying to get ppl free lasers even though it is nice. John wants to promote sales of lasers here on his site and hopefully ppl will see other items of interest. I have no problem with that at all, but it should be done in an efficient manner and as accurately as possible, within reason, to promote those sales.

Lets say John sends 3 50mw lasers instead. Ok, we get a review of that particular laser with a fairly good ranging idea of power and quality vs price. But in doing this ppl are now blind to his other laser products. He wants to sell them but they are not reviewed and are still a total seat of the pants guess when purchasing. Now lets say the 50mw ones reviewed well. If people buy his 100mw and they come out as 55-65mw actual, ppl will be upset. If they knew it before hand and the price was ok with them knowing this, no complaints. So, sending 3 of one mw rating helps that items for sales and ignores the rest of his products and limits his sales or possibly gets him bad reviews.

All of this over 3 or 6 more lasers to be tested (2 or 3 of each mw)? One way he gets confidence in sales of one laser model and if only one of each of 3 diff mw's it's not enough data. Neither is best for his overall sales IMO. US based companies would write this off as advertising. China may have diff laws/rules.

I would like to have another reputable seller who is an LPF member and participator.
On that subject, is there a thread with a single post that has LPF members that run websites? I keep finding ones while reading and in many cases would have purchased from them if I knew they were members. Just a thought/suggestion. If it exists, would someone pls post the link?

Re: One vote, one gift: vote for the hero of LPF in your mind

Voted for Daguin, Jayrob and Eudaimonium. Very experienced members.

Re: One vote, one gift: vote for the hero of LPF in your mind

Yes, my friends, I can't agree with you more.
Reviews of 3 lasers will be far from enough for customers to know about a company completely, we should send more.

According to the theory of statistics, samples less than 5% of the Total quantity or less than 10 will not be representative enough. So if we want to give you a Complete inpression in all respects, we should send 10 or more for each kind of laser. Now, we have 5mw,10mw,20mw,30mw,50mw,100mw,200mw, even 300mw, and some other kinds of lasers. Then, we should send more than 100 lasers this time. Even if we send you 100 more lasers for reviews, there will be more doubts about the choosen of samples: they choose the best ones as samples, and not so good ones for selling. Sorry, Jerry, sorry Vapor.

What we are trying to do this time is to give you a general inpression rather than complete inpression which is nearly impossible to get for one time or one day, or even a year. As a famous Proverb in china says : Distance tests a horse's stamina. I belive time reveals a person's heart, time reveals a company's reality, time and other customers will tell you whether a company deserve your orders or not. It is time and other customers can tell you whether Priceangels is reliable or not, not John. John is only a man who are trying his best to give you some unbiased imformation, but still get tons of doubt.

By the way, there has been many orders from members of LPF, so large amount of reviews as you want are not so far from us. Thanks for all your support, We appreciated it so much. If you can give riviews after get your items, we would be profoundly grateful.

Thanks for your suggestions, I will take them into consideration. Thank you!

Re: One vote, one gift: vote for the hero of LPF in your mind

Hi John, glad you are hanging in here and working with the members. Your efforts are appreciated. You can easily see I'm new to the forum and I can tell you a lot can be learned here reading 4hrs a day for 2 months! lol It doesn't scratch the surface and as well versed in electronics, rc and other related fields...lasers are a diff breed of cat. What I say I'm sure doesn't carry the weight of seasoned laser veterans. My approach is strictly logical in getting the "best bang for your buck". To little has not enough effect for sales, to much is a longer expected return for profit that may never occur. It's a fine line.

You statistics posted are sound, but if you noticed in my post, I have "within reason". I don't know how big your company is, profit margins, if you do strictly a drop ship business, many things. My idea of "within reason" is way lower than you state or imagine I or others would expect IMHO. I would not expect you to send free 3 of everything you have to ppl, certainly not 10. It is better data, but goes beyond reason. There has to be a logical cutoff point. I feel 3 of each of your selected ma ranges, I'll say 50, 100 & 200ma should give ppl a good feel for what to expect and purchase. You may feel diff ranges are better. I base my choices on what I see ppl purchasing from reading the forum and what is listed in their signatures that they own. During this purchasing time, after the reviews, people will be buying other lasers from you and reporting. If you aren't drop shipping, you should have enough sales to meter the rest yourself and include in your advertisements a better representative rating output number while having sales and making a profit.

You can never please everyone. If you gave everyone on the forum a free 300mw laser and they spec'd at 175-200mw, some would still complain. That's just human nature.

I hope this explains my reasoning better.

Of course, can't be more clearer, thank you.
but now I have another trouble, can you give me some suggestion? There are only less than 100 requirements for gift, with more than 1000 views. as you know, less then 10%. Then how can we improve the ratio of gifts requirements?

Re: One vote, one gift: vote for the hero of LPF in your mind

Oh, great EMT, thank you, expecting you for 3 days. By the way, you can have multi -choice

I didn't realize that when I voted.
Any chance you will be adding new flashlights to your website? Only a couple of them take 18650 batteries

These days we have added 20 more lasers in our website, and the link is
new release lasers and flashlights
There will be more later, and I will get a output meter to make sure the accurate output of them, so you can know it before place an order. That will be fair for customers

Re: One vote, one gift: vote for the hero of LPF in your mind

Great prices you have there...

Hey there is a demand for green modules for 'do it yourself' projects here at LPF. Can you also offer the modules? Especially the 150mW and higher ones?
