3 Diode Host Prototype, Pictures!

Looks awesome. Somebody NEEDS to pack 3 of the 6W diodes in this. A realistic 15W handheld laser would be killer....on your batteries and wallet lol. Still, would be awesome. And the simple fact that it is possible means someone must do it.

Thinking about doing 1 standard 9mm, and 1 - 6 Watter to keep costs down. Not sure how that would work. I'm also not sold on the 6 watters bad divergence. I have lots, and lots of options, and may start a poll looking for suggestions. The third hole will probably be filled with a red targeting lazer due to the difficulty of merging 3 beams of the same wavelength, which would requires knife edging. I'd rather have 2 overlapping beams, than 3 stacked, and I don't think this design will lend itself to easy knife edging?

How about this then.

2 x 9mm 3 W lasers
1 x 520nm 1.4W laser

The blues could combine via polarized beamsplitter cube and then add in the green using a pass blue/reflect green dichroic optic.

That would net you about 7 watts of bluish Cyan. Or a couple of 520 1.4W and one 445nm 3W would give you a very nice cyan color. Just use the PBS for the greens this time and the dichro for the blue.

I have thought about up dating the Tridentis build with three (3) of the NDB7A75's
While I am sure this could be done...Cost is a killer.....and the Adaptive optics would also need to be changed out from Anamorphics to Cylinerical Lenses.
Just TOoooo many projects....TOooooo little time and $$$

Lite'em Up CDBEAM=======>

See....
