3.5W NDB7A75 445nm Laser Diode

Some are reporting 5W with just 3.5A and Angelos has a 3.5A X-drive. He is also making a new larger X-drive that can do up to 7A.;)

Ha ! Guess I figured out the test load thing  Had to check and see what you got at 4.4a. I wound up with 5.49w. Pretty close to what you got.

will you be selling your NDB7A75 with the drivers? Would be easier to source everything from one location.

I am waiting on more stock of the 3.5A X-drives but if you want one now I have one of them left in stock and I can do a combo with it for you. As soon as I get more stock of the X-drives I will put the option up on the site but not sure when that will be.

I got some 3A driver in and one 4A to test . I put the 4A to 4.3A driver on one of my diodes in my copper heat sink and I got right at 6W may be a rare diode !

That's great news ! 6w is awesome ! Mine is doing 5.6w at 4.4a. It went up a little over 100mw after working on the tailcap. I'm waiting on a better switch. Could be a rare diode. Could be the lens. I got a really good lens from you once. Wish I would have kept it now :)
Thanks for the info ! REP +1

I had one out of 3 that I got around that . (2 were at 6w at 4A ) I have 2 more to test and I need to see what I get!
I hope I get more over 6W!

Awesome, as usual, Jordan. Now I have something new to save for. I think I have a host that will work with this well. Thank you for bringing so much good information to the forum, and very reasonable prices, too.

Just received the module and I got a question. Is the copper heatsink the diode is pressed into epoxied to the aluminum barrel screwed to it? I can't seem to unscrew it.

It is not epoxied but is not meant to be taken apart and is very tight with direct contact with the back of the diode. Do you need to disassemble the module for some reason?

yea the whole thing is installed into a custom heatsink with the regulator soldered directly to the diode. I guess if the diode gets too hot and requires this extra cooling then I'll figure something out and move the regulator else where.
