Hey LPF'ers,

I just wanted to let you all know that we've just released Rigel-6, Rigel-10 and Rigel-20 lasers. That's right, we now have Laserglow-quality yellow pointers up to 20 mW!

WOHA 20 mW yellow, this will make a very visible beam right?
 
Yes, you will get a visible beam in the night sky with 20 mW of yellow. It'll be just a little less bright than a comparable green laser.
 
The prices of yellows really have been coming down lately after they were stable for a couple years. 20mW of yellow in a pen was unheard of a year ago!

Hey Justin, by any chance will you guys be offering any of the 589nm units any time soon? There have been some threads on here about CNI selling 589nm handhelds up to 80mW, and it would be pretty cool if you got a hold of some of them.
 
Oh shit, 20mW yellow in a pointer pen! THATS CRAZY.


Edit: Btw if Glenn make another CNI GB, i suggest you to buy from there instead, if i reminds well its 415$ for >20mW, or was it 473nm?
 
Very nice. Like someone mentioned a year ago you would've been happy if the laser peaked at 5ish. :D Time to start thinking of yellow I guess.


+1 to stypyro's question, will the 589nm be available through LG? From what I understand they seem to offer more stable operation as well as ?higher efficiency?, not to mention they are inching closer and closer to that magical peak.
 
I am almost 100% positive that those are the 589nm regardless of the 593nm specification on the website.
 
I'll wait a year or so until the price drops if I ever want to buy an exotically colored laser.
I don't find a use for them. I think they would get boring pretty quickly. That's my opinion at least.

Howcome you say that? Anyhow you're better off getting in on Glenn's GB IMO.

You're entitled to your opinion and all...but I must ask. If that is how you feel then what are you even doing here? o_O
 
Sounds awesome! Too bad I just bought a Rigel-5. :( I'm thinking this might be 589nm as well. The 589 process is so much more efficient than the 593 it would make much more sense. Although the Rigel-5 I own now is SO much more bright, stable and never does the green thing compared to my first 5mW yellow. I am guessing 589 and 593 would be next to impossible to differentiate visually, so it probably doesn't matter either way.

True way better off with the GB, also the reasoning was exactly as stated above. The efficiency of the current process just doesn't add up.
 
I don't want to be an ass, but aren't the CNI 589nm 80mW units a hundred dollars less than the laserglow(CNI) 593.5nm 20mW units? Is the smaller size really worth that much?
