2 Amp+ driver circuit needed.

How the heck do you power it??  That's a lot of amps

Going to supply with 2 ips power supply which can pump up to 40 A (but the problem is that 5V maybe very light for the lm317, planning to use 2 power supply to have 10V)

With an amp panel meter (see ebay) showing the current which is modifiable with 25 switch. :P

... to supply some FAP800 i got on ebay
Coherent7a-blue.jpg
and pump Sandstone's crystal to have an experimental high powered greenie (i hope ::))

CB -- I did ask and they replied. They have what appears to be a good supply for a labbie but I'm rebuilding a portable with very limited space.

Forget the 40 amps thing on my thread.

You can parallel two FlexDrives if you want and put a schottky in series with te LD.. I know, cost adds up but it would be a decent switching solution.

Well, I did some labby driver which can power up to 2,5A (from 0mA to 2,5A lineal)

Those diodes at start (to "step-down" voltage need to be atleast 2,5-3A if you want power diodes up to 2,5A, I'm using it with 2,2R resistor so it's from 0mA to about 1,3A)

It was done all on PCB, don't have schematic ;P

Also, you don't have to use Tip127, you can use any PNP transistor which can hold that power.

If someone care why are the diodes at start, LM358 need to be powered 1,5V+ more voltage than other elements, so they drop voltage of about 2,1V for other elements.

Well, the topology of the circuits allows designing one for any current level... With a suitable shunt and transistor (probably darlington bipolar + mosfet setup) it would be able to regulate 40 amps as well as 4 or 0.4 amps.

With that much power, i'd go for a proper rail-to-rail opamp and forget about the drop diodes though ;p

LOL I don't think the 12v would be good for my laser diode though.
