1W 650nm C-Mount Laser

Re: 1W 638nm C-Mount Laser

lol hahaha ^
i have a 638nm i will compare it to this cool laser alaskan
ok did a test i let the pro's make the decision what nm this laser is :)

Yeah, I wasn't after the WL. You can keep the driver & diode in change. And I can pay good price for that aluminum.. :D

Re: 1W 638nm C-Mount Laser

Isn't that the diode used in the 1W 650nm PL-E pro? Here mine is shown by a 638nm sanwu spiker for comparison.

Re: 1W 638nm C-Mount Laser

I don't see much difference, maybe too bright, or the camera doesn't show well? Edit: I think the brightness might be over saturating the green detector on that camera too.

Re: 1W 638nm C-Mount Laser

When i was looking at my both lasers i could see the difference the 638nm looks like much bright , the 650nm is definitely more red when looking from the side i can see the 638nm looks like weird color like red&pink or my eyes are tripping
(Razako) in your image i cant tell the difference the one on left looks like more red ? :can:

( A note to new members, and members always use safely glasses i was using safely glasses when comparing the colors temporary i pointed the laser at a dark object to compare only the beam )

Re: 1W 638nm C-Mount Laser

I have a 700mw 638nm pointer and it is much brighter than 650nm, I can see that just in the shade of color when I don't even have a 1 watt 650nm, or even a half watt 650nm laser to set side by side. I had a chance to buy Styro's 4 watt 660nm lab laser, but when I did the calculations, except for burning something, I was better off PBS combining two 700mw 638 nm laser diodes for a brighter pointer, even if loosing 400mw to get 1.5 watts of 638nm, still 25% brighter than 4 watts of 660nm, so decided against buying it.

Only problem with red laser diodes, unless relatively low power single mode, is that they need an expander, or the beam spreads out far too fast for me to appreciate them as much as I could. Regardless of all of that, the color is cherry and worth having just for that.

Re: 1W 638nm C-Mount Laser

this is why i like it the color is mars red i may build 1X650nm C-mount wonder what lens the used in this laser to get the beam so tiny

Re: 1W 638nm C-Mount Laser

Think you made a beautiful buy, the more I see this unit the more I wished I bought it. Enjoy that puppie, I know I would.

Me and a half of dozen other members. :)

Re thread page 1: Both beautiful but 638 on the right. I could not see the difference in color with my notebook but can with my iphone. Love those pix.

Re: 1W 638nm C-Mount Laser

If you are talking about Razako's post #18 where he has a comparison between a 650nm and a 635nm, I can't tell the difference on anything I have. Tablet, laptop, they both look the same on my devices.

Edit: Yeah, it was a typo. I try to catch those, but sometimes one gets through.

hehe 350nm :D

Re: 1W 638nm C-Mount Laser

Was looking a Alien's post #16. Guess I should have quoted it but I can now see text I didn't notice before, the 650nm on the right looks more 638nm to me, I guess because the beam widths are so different, the tighter beam looks more orange to me in that photo.

I don't really see why it's called a "C-mount" looking at that ?

Re: 1W 638nm C-Mount Laser

In the picture, your 638 looks more pink and more like 650 nm. Your 650 on the other hand looks more orange and more like 638 nm  Guess it's your camera, or you somehow magically switched the diodes. Lol ;) Either way nice to see a GITD Kryton in your pics!

Re: 1W 638nm C-Mount Laser

15W?

I have some of those, still haven't used them, mine are 808nm with FAC lens.
