It seems that the forum is more on the topic of girding noobs and beating them to a pulp and having malicious fun at their expense.
I know we got lots of noobs asking same question over and over but still i think there are point when people just go to far.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
Yes sometimes it takes many posts to either educate the member, or wear him down, or get him out. However, that is mostly up to the NooB. In the same time frame that this was going on here, a NooB in the gas laser section came on, asked some "obvious" questions, was re-directed onto other ways to get his answer and is now off happily reading SAM's Laser FAQ. This guy decided he wanted to try to "force" someone to just answer his very obvious question.
You are welcome to jump in and answer any question posed by any NooB at any time. Jumping in to try to tell the veterans that they aren't acting the correct way will not change us. It will only perpetuate the "off topic" discussion that you say you are not happy with.
Do you have a "back" button in your browser? Any time you come to a thread that has degraded into the sort of discussion you do not like, you can just as easily click on "back" and never be troubled by the poor way we treat a particular NooB.
If you choose to post about anything other than laser theory or application, you are just adding "noise" to the "signal." If my understanding of your complaint is correct, that is one of the reasons you do not like what we did here. If you just feel the need to defend the underdog, then help him instead of deriding us.
You absolutely have the right to post whatever you want. Just keep in mind, that so do I. (and c0ld has the right to delete or ban at his discression)
Peace,
dave
