These are not the 300mW Mitsubishi 635nm diodes. Low power 635nm are very cheap now. And they are not very impressive at 5mW.

Thanks for the heads up folks! I guess I missed something. Oh well I recall there 20 mW ones sold on ebay weren't they? Are they the same ones as the ones used in these pointers?

Those were the Sanyo 40mW 635nm diodes. Running them at 40mW they are half as bright as the 200mW LCC and they have pretty good beam spec. I don't think the pens have the Sanyo diodes.

No I don't mean the 40mW version. Well not sure if they were Sanyo ones, but I remember pretty well that there were low powered ones as well. Because everyone was searching for the 40mW ones and they were out of stock or something..

Not impressive. But I like it.
