100mW 473nm Blue laser projector

Hey EKU, Sorry a little too low for sale. BTW I searched for your avatar video but the video cuts off right there. I wish we could see the aftermath. Oh well. I am contemplating taking the laser out of the projector and just setting up a permanent laser fixture to shine around my apartment with bounce mirrors.

Ok thats fine with me but if you have a wife I don't think she'd be very happy with mirrors all over the house XD!

LOL, very true. Thank god I don't have one of those yet. Still living the crazy life.

Price drop $550 shipped. I still have it. It is still an awesome blue laser. 100mW of Blue.

I do not know I only use ilda. If you turn it on without ilda plugged in it plays some crappy stuff. Not like the rgb one. You really need to get ilda. It will open up another world.

^Upgrading to ILDA would be a challenge for BCM since he tends to use a large number of projectors at once.. He could use one or two central scanners with ILDA and supplement them with more running DMX..

Good point electro, I am used to only running one projector at a time and so to me personally it would be a handicap to use DMX. In BCM's case DMX control would be easier. I have never used the DMX control function though so this is only from my knowledge on DMX from what I have read.

In truth it doesn't really matter if the galvos were run over by a car before you put them in there. As long as that laser works well it's a steal.. everything else is just a bonus.

Thanks, the laser does work well. It is stable at 100mW on the nose. The galvos work fine too and display the test patterns perfectly, they are just slower than I prefer. They are at 15kpps. I purchased this box/galvos/plugs/switches/powersupplies all prebuilt into the box. This was basically a professionally build projector with just the laser removed. I then installed my own laser. The only thing I did was connect the lasers ttl modulation as well as the mains and place the laser's PS in the box. In order to fit the lasers PS in the box I had to unscrew on of the galvos driver. That is why it is "floating" in place.

I want this sooooo bad... I'll send you a PM soon Yobresal... maybe we can work something out :beer:

another cool feature i was reminded of is the max/min dial which changes the pojected size of the image. It is basically a scale dial for the projector.

EF's right - a big reason I haven't gone ILDA is the fact that we use 6-12 units at our smaller shows and for our big events can end up juggling as many as 18 units before we run out of room on the trussing ... DMX programming makes everything a lot faster and easier, especially in unknown venues where we have to reprogram our scenes prior to the show to avoid (much) audience scanning...

The 2 Laserworld units we had did some pretty nice spiral effects using the preprogrammed DMX scenes, and of course were light-years smoother than our SHINP stepper units, if I wouldn't have been offered more than we paid for them they'd still be in the arsenal (those were 20k but seriously misrepresented power-wise, like under 40% of spec prior to the optics). I was thinking of using this laser in the middle of our small rack (see my avatar) not only for the color, but for the smoothness of the patterns (to lend a little more fluidity to the chases, etc) ... I'll mull it over for a day or two, I have a small show tonight and I'll try and visualize how the blue would work and see what I come up with.

PM sent - not sure if you got it (I revised my offer to reflect the asking price) - let me know before I blow my $$ on something else shiny!
