1-1.3 watt 445nm Laser Packages **ONLY $190 SHIPPED IN THE US**

Yes I do hope I can get my hands on the SLII before July 4th... Got some big explosives to light and want to be able to stand a few meters away when lighting.

One of the tricks to igniting pyrotechnics at a distance (not to mention having the laser optimally focused) is to keep the laser as motionless as possible. Any movement will distribute the energy over a larger surface area and make igniting the material more difficult, or even impossible. In addition, a tiny movement of the laser will translate to a much larger movement of the spot at the standoff distance. So you might want to brace it against an immoveable object during use.

Or use a tripod, which will allow getting focus on the fuse, and then just stand back while the tripod holds the laser and the laser does it's work.

Yes I am well aware of keeping the laser perfectly still. I'll find the optimum distance for a fast light so I may have to be a little closer. I'll find a way.

O and Gary the lens in these are the...g1?? I heard talk about an upgraded lens to improve power even more. What's the story with that, would I need to find the better lens elsewhere?

Yep tripods will help a great deal with this and survival laser is now selling these as well. I got mine last week and it really makes things so much easier. I never can seem to hold my hands steady enough to burn things easily. The tripod helps greatly with this. I will most likely be getting a couple more in the near future.

The tripod idea is a good one.

The SL II package will ship with an AixiZ-style 445nm AR coated glass lens. The G-1 lens is optional and will produce 10-15% more power. Tentative specs are 1.8W +/- 100mW with the stock lens and 2W +/- 100mW with the G-1.

How much would the estimated starting price would be for SL-II?
I know I won't be disappointed with one after purchasing the first one :)

Yes, what is the price for the SLII? I sent an email yesterday to your sales, for me to be notified whenever the SLII where to be available. I hope you got it!

O had it backwards. yikes another $100. Maybe I'll wait on that lens. So the stock SLII will about 1900mW maximum then?

Correct, athough some diodes will produce more power, some less. One of our beta testers had a diode that produced over 2W with the standard lens. :)

The SL II complete bundle with accessories will be $469, which will also include a battery extension tube and a syringe of Ceramique 2 thermal compound.

A number of our customers have had trouble taking their lasers apart without breaking the driver wires, so we are not going to offer an "upgrade" per se. Instead, a "laser parts only" bundle will be sold to LPF member previous purchasers. Price on the laser parts only bundle is TBD.

I will respond individually to every interested customer so you will know that you have been added to the list.

I just purchased my Survival Laser on Sunday, so I am hoping to get it tomorrow (I live relatively close to Gary). Once I get it I will post a review. It feels like christmas :san:

I just wanted to say that this laser is freaking awesome. It has enough power to burn things from 10 feet away.. I use it to replace butane lighters, but I do have to wear glasses the whole time as this thing is so freaking bright!

Amazing! I just bought this laser two days ago and received it today. The assembly was simple and fast and only took around 3 minutes, no soldering or any special tools required. After assembling it, I put my goggles on and put the batteries in the laser to test it, and I aimed it at the box it came with and I wasn't expecting anything, but it started smoking instantly with hardly any charge in the battery! I got a match and it lit instantly! I'm very impressed and satisfied with this laser. I will hopefully post pictures later! Thanks Gary!

Thank you all for the nice feedback. I just ask that you use them safely as I know you will. :)

:P, How do you clean the lens, I seem to have gotten some dirt on it or something. Thanks in advance :]
